My entire world changed in one fateful night. I lost everything I held dear to my heart. I lost the purpose of my existence.

The first thing that hit me was the screams, then the smell of blood and oddly, the last thing was the sight of fire and smoke.

I stood in my place watching women, children, and elderly scream in fear and try to run for their own life. I watched the house burn and the smell of burned meat made me gag.

‘Kronos, we must save them. What is wrong with you?’

A distant voice shouted at me and I took hesitant steps forward when I saw them sprawled on the ground.

She was hugging him to her chest, curled up as if she was trying to protect him and shield him with her own small, frail human body.

I stumbled forward when her vacant, empty eyes stared at me as if they were accusing me silently for all of this.

I dropped to my knees when I was a mere foot away and I breathed deeply, shuddering when their scents reached me.

I thought that my mind was playing tricks on me, but no, this was real. These are them, they are dead.

My hand shook as it reached out to touch their cold body, and I felt tears run down my face when I stroked his soft, matted hair.

He was going to be ten tomorrow. His birthday was tomorrow. A few hours ago, he was asking me for a bike as a gift and I was teasing him.

‘Noah….wake up. Open your eyes……..Charlotte, I’m back from the hunt… I…..’

I murmured softly as I stared at them, then I slapped my face a couple of times because this can’t be real. It can’t be.

I looked around me and tried to stop anyone of the people that were running and screaming around me, but no one stopped.

‘Kronos snap out of it. We need you. There was an attack here. Your people need your fucking help. They are dead, the living needs you.’

Someone said, shaking me violently, and I looked at Sawyer even though I couldn’t see him clearly and I looked back down at my family.

My wolf whimpered as it leaned down on its feet and stared at our mate and son, who were swimming in their own blood.

‘NO.no…..no.nnnnnooooooo………….’

I murmured as I gathered them to my body and hugged them tightly, shaking them, trying to make them wake up and talk to me, but it was no use.

Then I looked at my hand that was drenched in their blood and my eyes widened in horror and I let them go and crawled back.

They are dead. I have lost them. I have lost my family.

My mind swam with all these thoughts, then I threw my head back and howled in pain, feeling my chest clench and a fist tearing it open.

My wolf roared at me and I stood up and felt my burning blazing eyes regard the scene, then I shifted.

I attacked and tore off heads. I bit off limbs and ate hearts. I killed every wolf that smelled foreign and even killed any other that stood in my way.

That night, the bright silver light of the moon turned crimson red because of the blood I have spilled. That night I have earned the title ‘savage’ from all my monstrosities and I was fucking proud of it.
