I settled into my chair. I was so tired. It had been a long night. I finally fell into a deep sleep. I awoke in the morning to find I couldn’t move. To my surprise, Aura had curled up in my lap and gone to sleep. Maybe I had a breakthrough with her. I gently picked her up. I walked over to the bed, gently putting her down. I needed to change. I checked to make sure she was still sleeping. When I was sure, I kissed her gently on the temple before heading to my room. The last 24 hours had been a whirlwind. As I stepped into my room, I didn’t notice the black heels on the floor. I walked to my closet as a voice called to me.

“Draven, where have you been? I missed you.” Dahlia’s voice echoed through my ears.

“What are you doing here? I told you, I found my mate. I don’t need you anymore.” I growled.

“Draven don’t be like that. Everyone knows Alphas can reject their mates easily and take another one. I know you love what I do to you.”

I slammed the door, as I strode back to my desk, I grabbed another bottle of scotch before settling down in my chair. I poured myself another glass, as I was about to take a sip, I heard the noise again. I slammed my glass on the desk. "Who ever is out there come here now!" I roared using my command. The door opened slowly, standing there was my Beta and his mate. I signaled for them to come in. "Alpha Karn, we have come to ask your blessing, we have discovered my mate is indeed pregnant.     Aura's POVI spent the day trying to take care of the twins without my mate's help. I was tired after a long night of mourning the loss of Alpha Oren. It was very sad. Draven stood in front of everyone as we all said our goodbyes. Most of Brightmoon's pack had perished in the attack. I had no idea how Luna Adina had made it out alive.     The minutes seemed like hours as we waited for the convoy to arrive. I couldn't help but be on edge. I knew Luna Adina would never lie but maybe she had been hurt enough to lose her memory? I would have to wait till they arrived and see for myself. Aura was lying down on a cot I had brought in for her. The twins both slept in their bassinets. I hoped for her the reports were true, Luna Adina had indeed made a miraculous recovery. I heard the code word come through telling us the convoy was here. I had been pacing while I waited for them to arrive. I had various security checkpoints set up to ensure there was nothing that could lead the enemy to our location.
