Chapter 0006

SERAPHINA POV

I looked at Rune confused, not knowing what he was trying to do.

"She wanted to end her life because of how guilty she felt. Sure, she has made her mistakes and she has learned her lessons. She's your daughter....you should not turn your back on her because everyone else has done the same to her. You should at least give her a chance to show you that she has changed. She can't give herself a second chance if you can't even do that!" Rune said.

The Alpha sighed. "That bastard really took my daughter away from me and he turned her into a shadow of herself! My daughter used to be a beautiful and smart wolf but now she can't even...."

He didn't need to complete those words. I knew that I was a big embarrassment to both my family and the entire pack in general.

"Yes. He did all of those things to her. He is the one you should hate. Not Seraphina. During this time, she really needs her family in her life. It's not about just giving her a place to live in. It's also making sure she can live here. I think that we should get her to do something so that she isn't sad all the time. Maybe if she's busy...she can get her mind off what happened to her" Rune suggested.

I'd never understand how he got my father to sympathise with me but when the Alpha looked at me again, there was no longer the look of anger and disappointment on his face. Instead, it was a pity. He was looking at me with pity.

"If we are really going to let her back in here, then we need to make sure we are clear on one thing. She is never going to go back to that person! He is a bastard and he doesn't deserve her at all! He never did!" Alpha Logan declared.

I didn't think that was going to be a problem. Lucius was never going to come back to me. He was probably having a great time with Helena right now.

He was all too happy to have me out of his life.

"Of course, Your Highness. She is never going to go back to him even when he comes crawling on his knees!" Rune assured him.

"About what you said ...that she needed something to do ...I think we can find something for her to do. I don't want my daughter looking like she is going to fall and pass out any second now!" The Luna chipped in .

She was not wrong. I looked like a mess. I knew that. I didn't even have the energy to continue with my life and I wanted to die a few hours ago. I didn't care about my expenses.

"I think....that there is something my older sister can do. I was talking to the head of the maids a few days ago. She told me that the lady who supplied fruits to the palace and the Elders had passed away from old age. She's having a hard time finding someone else who would do this. Maybe sister can do this?" My younger sister, Shera spoke up for the first time.

I looked at my sister. There was a bit of indifference in her eyes as she spoke. I felt really bad. I used to be close to my sister before this but I ruined our relationship with my own hands. I really wanted us to go back to how we were before but I knew it was going to be hard.

"I don't think this is a bad idea. She can earn a lot from this and she can also get her mind off the things that had happened to her" Alpha Logan agreed with my sister.

"So it's settled then. Seraphina, you are going to return to your old room and you're going to start working but don't think that I have completely forgiven you for what happened. I need to see you prove yourself to me. That you are never going to go back to him again!"

Everyone turned to me when he said that. They were all waiting for my response.

I stood there thinking about everything that had happened to me. How Lucius betrayed me and how Helena is having the best time of her life after stealing everything from me.

At first, when I was chased out, I had thoughts of Lucius coming back to me and begging me to go back with him but as time went on, I started to see that it just did not make sense.

It was as if I was hit with a reawakening then. I don't need him. I am going to try my best to get over him and build a good life for myself here.

I looked up at my father. "I promise. I am not going to go back to him!" I said.

"That's fine. Shera, you should take your sister to meet the head maid so you can discuss the details better. That's after she cleans herself up and makes herself look better. I won't have her disgracing us again!" My father said.

......

Rune and I walked out of the throne room together.

"Thank you so much Rune for doing this. I did not think that they were ever going to listen to me. I thought....I thought that they hated me" I said as I lowered my head.

"Come on Seraphina. I don't think your parents hate you. They were just mad at you. I didn't even do much. I just needed to get them to see how pitiful you were. You were going through a lot too, you know" he said to me.

I nodded my head.

"Why did you want to help me anyway? You didn't have to" I said.

He shook his head with a smile. "let's just say...I know what it feels like to be betrayed"

"Oh! Did your mate leave you too?!" I asked.

Who would leave a man like Rune?

"Betrayal doesn't come from our mates only Seraphina. Sometimes our biggest betrayal comes from our family"

Wow! "Let's make the main character be pitiful and use a stranger to talk on her behalf. It can't even be classified as cliché. It's pure misogynistic.
