Chapter 19: The Blood Storm

2026-06-23 21:15:15At the dawn of the next day, Aries and Lisena moved out silently. They wore tight-fitting black tactical gear that looked agile and dangerous. A full set of weapons was prepared for a small-scale war.
“You stay here,” Aries said to Merin at the door one last time. “Don’t go anywhere… all security systems have been activated… this is the safest place.”
“Take care of yourselves,” Merin said, her voice trembling, tears welling up in her eyes.
Lisena gave her a faint smile. “Don’t worry, my love… we’ll be back soon with good news.”
After they finished speaking, the two Alphas turned and walked away, leaving Merin standing there, watching them go with a heart full of fear and worry.
Several hours passed like an eternity. Merin couldn't sit still. She paced back and forth in the living room, praying that everything would be alright. But then… just as she was about to lose hope… the mansion’s alarm suddenly blared!
The deafening sound of the alarm made Merin’s heart drop to her stomach! The security system had been breached!
What had happened!? Did the plan go wrong? Or had they invaded here!?
Before she could get an answer, the living room door was forcefully broken in! Several burly men in black stormed in, fully armed!
Merin screamed in shock and backed away until she was pressed against the wall. They knew she was here! They had come to capture her!
“There you are… a present for the big boss,” one of them said with a disgusting smile.
But before he could get any closer to her… his body was sent flying into the wall by someone’s foot!

The female Alpha appeared like a raging storm. Her face had scrapes and bloodstains, but her eyes were ablaze with fierce anger. “How dare you… set foot in here!”
“Get her!”
The remaining men in black swarmed Aries at once, but they had underestimated the power of the number one Alpha. Aries fought fiercely and mercilessly. Every movement of hers was a sharp and swift kill.
At the same time, Lisena appeared from behind like a shadow. In her hands were two gleaming daggers. She didn't fight head-on like Aries, but her movements were elegant and dangerous like an assassin. She attacked from blind spots, cutting tendons and killing enemies silently.
The two Alphas fought side by side as if they could read each other’s minds. They were a perfect team… a team born to destroy.
But the enemy had more men than they thought, and it seemed they had come well-prepared. A large man who looked like the leader of the group snuck up behind Aries while she was fighting someone else. In his hand was a pistol aimed at her!
“Aries! Watch out!” Merin screamed at the top of her lungs.
Aries whipped around, but it was too late…
Bang!
The gunshot rang out… but the one who fell wasn’t Aries.
Lisena… she had lunged in to take the bullet for her!
Her body collapsed to the floor instantly. Bright red blood gushed from the wound on her shoulder.
“LISENA!!!” Aries roared like a madwoman. Her anger reached its peak. She charged at the man who had shot Lisena and broke his neck with her bare hands with brutal force.
The rest of the fight ended in a matter of seconds. The frenzied Aries killed all the remaining enemies without batting an eye.
When everything calmed down, she rushed to check on Lisena immediately. “Lisena! How are you!?”
“Just… a scratch,” Lisena said weakly, trying to smile but could only grimace in pain.
But just as Aries was bending down to look at Lisena’s wound, the last enemy, who had been playing dead on the floor, got up again. In his hand was a knife, about to lunge and stab Aries from behind!
“NO!!!”
Merin, who was standing there trembling, could no longer just stand by and watch. She did something she had never thought she would do before… she grabbed a large vase that was nearby and ran to smash it on the man’s head with all her might!
Crash!
The man’s body fell to the floor, unconscious instantly.
Aries and Lisena turned to look at her in stunned silence.
Merin stood panting in the middle of the room, which was filled with corpses and bloodstains. Her hands were still tightly clutching the broken pieces of the vase. She wasn't screaming… she wasn't crying… but her eyes were filled with a determination and strength she had never had before.
She had protected… her family.
But then… Aries collapsed as well!
“Ms. Aries!”
Merin rushed over to check on her, and only then did she notice that Aries had a deep stab wound on her side! The blood was flowing out nonstop! It seemed she had been stabbed during the chaos.
