CELESTE’S POV

It was one of those days I spent hours in the dream realm. I was casually walking through the different hallways of the castle like any other day, only this time around, I was dreaming, and I knew it. I also knew where my legs were carrying me to, even though I had no idea why, when Killian was not even in there.

I came to a halt a few feet away from his door, where a random guard refused to allow me entry. I contemplated telling them this was just a dream, but in the end, I decided against it. They say, “Don’t tell the dream people that you are dreaming.”

I waited until they got distracted by a strange light gleaming at the far end of the hallway, and I slipped into the room, closing the door behind me. The room, like I remembered, was dark, very dark in fact, so that it couldn’t possibly be as a result of the closed curtains only. The darkness was too much, too blinding, too consuming.

I stood by the closed door for a few minutes, just thinking of what my next move

  • Alpha's Cursed Twain   CHAPTER 247

CELESTE’S POV“Killian?” “Celeste?” I have lost count of how many times we mumbled each other’s names, never for once loosening the tight grip we had on each other. Killian’s grip on my shoulder was a bit painful, because I had a fresh gash on my shoulder not up to an hour ago. The wound has healed from the outside, but it was still a bit raw to the touch. But compared to being in my mate’s hands after so many agonizing months of waiting, the pain felt pretty insignificant. At some point, we stopped with the name-calling, or better yet, I stopped. I let myself completely get immersed in what I knew would somehow end anyway. Killian held on to me, breathing heavily and mumbling my name over and over again. I let him, even though I so badly want to see his face now, hold it in my hands and kiss him until I melt into him. I thought I missed him, but with the way he was holding me and all, I just realized I probably didn’t miss him half the way he missed me. There is something about

  • Alpha's Cursed Twain   CHAPTER 246

CELESTE’S POVI looked around at my body, trying to see if any part was missing. The energy the moonstone sucked out of me had me crumbling to the ground in seconds. I inwardly ticked off the boxes in my head, and when I made sure every part of me was intact, I looked up toward Malthus, expecting to see a wolf taking a stance and ready to attack, but instead, it was an entirely different thing. “Killian!” I had the first glimpse of the wolf transforming midair, as the body hit the harsh-looking ceiling and bounced back to the ground. I just knew, deep down in me, that it couldn't be Malthus. The life-threatening situation must have made Malthus recoil away and let Killian take a bit of control in fear of getting hurt. The coward! The audacity of the coward! “Killian!” I yelled again, this time my voice croaked, and tears were streaming down my cheek, blurring my vision. I threw myself off the floor beside him the minute I reached where he lay flat and motionless on the floor. I sc

  • Alpha's Cursed Twain   CHAPTER 245

CELESTE’S POVThe moonstone, which was fast becoming intensely heated in my hand, was protecting me from Malthus, and I had no idea how. For minutes on end, we stood rooted to our spots, no one moving. I wasn’t moving, mostly because I didn’t want to trigger what could switch off the barrier. He was in a good position to get me killed, and with the look in his eyes, I just knew he wouldn’t hesitate to pull it off almost immediately. In the midst of all this, Sam picked this exact time to show up. The door was pushed open, and he walked in calmly, even turning around to close the door behind him, completely oblivious to the situation he had walked into. “Logan, why did you fucking send me into a dead trap without at least….” whatever was remaining for him to say died down in his throat. I am guessing he had a glimpse of what the room currently looked like. “What the freaking hell is this?” He whispered, his voice breathy with terror. But that doesn't stop him from moving in, though

  • Alpha's Cursed Twain   CHAPTER 244

CELESTE'S POVI stood frozen in horror. It clicked in everyone's head all at the same time. What the wolf wanted was the moonstone, and I was currently holding the moonstone. To add to that, I stood closest to the portal. I have the knack for reacting the slowest to situations. Logan, Kaiden, and Victor all jolted forward, their voices intertwining as they all yelled my name. Before I could react, the wolf's jaws snapped shut mere inches away from my face, and that was only because Kaiden had managed to push me out of the way just in time. I fell to the ground with so much force that it knocked the air out of my lungs. I gasped and attempted to sit up, but there was no time to do anything else as the wolf bounced forward yet again, moving toward my stretched hand that held onto the pulsing moonstone. I succeeded in moving out of the way just in time, but the wolf was relentless. He reached for me again before anyone could reach us and pinned me to the ground, his razor-sharp claws

  • Alpha's Cursed Twain   CHAPTER 243

CELESTE'S POVI sprang up from the bed like I was being chased, sweat dripping down every opening on my skin. My breath came out in sharp pangs, my chest tightened with each breath I took, making the next one even harder than the first. I tried to hold onto the bed frame in an attempt to control my breathing, but I was only able to do so with my right hand. My left hand had something clutched tightly in it. When I looked down, I realized my encounter with Malthus was perhaps not just the usual type of dream. The moonstone, now back to its original pale colour, was clutched in my left hand.I swallowed uneasily and held onto it tightly, scared it would magically fade away from my grasp. For the first time since the start of all this, I felt a little bit fulfilled. Now I have the moonstone, and the witches who could make an absolute use of it. A sudden knock on my door caused me to leap back in fear. My breathing, though controlled, was still disheveled. I calmly walked to the door, t

  • Alpha's Cursed Twain   CHAPTER 242

CELESTE’S POVA blinding light covered the entire room, so bright that I could barely see anything else but the white light. I shield my eyes with my hands from the light, which was causing an intense pain in my eyes. I have no idea what the heck was going on. Couldn't I have asked the witches what to expect when I was in front of him? I guess it’s too late to do that now. “Trust your instincts.” I chanted in my head as I let the light engulf me, the growling of the wolf growing louder and louder. If the guards at the door could hear these disturbing sounds, then it would be a matter of seconds before they came barging in to figure out what was happening. But thankfully, it was a dream; it made absolute sense that they didn’t bother with curiosity. I don’t know how long we stood there, but when the light finally subsided enough for me to lift my shield away from my eyes, I realized I wasn’t the only one affected by the light. Malthus' wolf was growling in pain and not fury. The ligh
