“Dr. Blackthorn!”

I turned quickly at the sound of the urgent voice. My heart sank when I saw the King carrying Violet in his arms. Her body was convulsing, her face pale and twisted in pain.

“She’s having a seizure,” he said breathlessly.

I didn’t waste a second. “Come this way,” I said, pointing toward the guest room.

But as we moved, Violet stirred, her voice faint and slurred. “No…”

I paused. She was trying to say something. I leaned closer and then realised—she didn’t want to be here.

“This place… It’s triggering her,” I told the King quietly. “Too many memories.”

“Is there a hospital nearby?” he asked.

Before I could answer, Dante stepped in. “We can take her to our home. The dispensary we have for the soldiers is fully equipped, and it’s quieter and safer than the hospital right now. Especially with His Majesty being here incognito. Our Pack is not ready to host a royal. I will look into the preparation until then.”
