114. Maria Nixon gave the slip!!! (Flashback cont'd) Brian was waiting near the car. When he saw the scene, the ground under his feet shook. Maria was literally being dragged along the ground. It seemed that she let her body free in hope that Damien would not force her. But he crazily yanked her like a sack of potatoes. "Da-Damien please listen to me," She kept begging but the alpha didn't pay her any heed. He threw her in the passenger seat and slammed the door making her yelp. Her blurred eyes watched him sprint to the other side of the car and sit next to her in the driver's across the steering wheel. "NO!" She just touched the door to unlock it but he snarled like an animal. "You better not dare it."Maria coward away. She closed her eyes and shrunk as far away from him as possible, as she heard him kick the engine start and set the vehicle in motion. She sobbed irrationally and shivered like the leaves during a storm. The alpha accelerated the car at high speed, taking her
115. Help me escape or else... I'll kill you In the hospital, Maria Nixon tiptoed inside a dark room and shut the door as softly as possible to avoid attracting attention. She turned around to see metal shelves lined across the wall. They were laden with medical clothing like surgical uniforms, gowns, masks and other stuff. She hurried behind a mountain of carton boxes and kneeled below. Her body hurt from laying in bed for a long time. As she rolled her wrists for flexible motion, she heard the door unlock. Her breaths hitched. She let her head sink and held her breaths. She knew it would be useless to even think about running away because this hospital was one of the Alpha's possessions and half the staff was from his race. But the other half were humans thus she took a chance and lowered into a snail, trying her luck. Relief washed over her bent frame as the sound of door slamming shut hit her ears. She let the breath she had been holding and straightened to a normal posture.
116. She's out of the hospital Maria's shoulder's hung. Her hold on the old woman's neck loosened, "I… I… I don't… I just need some help." The ripples in her voice cut the old lady more than the surgical blade would have. She blinked her eyes, more in shock than terror as she watched the blade fall at her own feet. Maria cowered away and collapsed on her knees. "I j-just want to go home. J-just want to get away from here before h-he catches me again." Tears gathered in her eyes, and she hugged her frantically shaking arms to her chest. The woman's heart tore up at the sight. Maria was a beauty with innocent features. Fear didn't suit her face. Her lips were made to kiss, not bite and clench like that. Her body was perfect and seemed only natural. Seeing it bent towards the ground like a slave asking for mercy caused the woman to get on her knees and pull her in her arms. "Please help me get out of here. P-please help me avoid him." The lady recognized Maria as the Alpha's guilty,
117. Alpha Damien-- our common enemy"What do you want from me?" Maria Nixon felt the separate hammering of her pulse at her throat and heart as she tentatively read the two men's impassive faces. She hesitantly looked around herself and another kind of apprehension, alarming, moistened her forehead. She was brought to a dusky warehouse on the outskirts. It was abandoned and broken from the outside. And the first impression she got was that they were Damien's guards, who were ordered to take her to a faraway place and execute her. She cried and refused to go inside. Her legs gave away when they took measured steps towards her and failed any attempt of running away she had. Her hands alternately ached and felt dead. She wailed for help but the man in his fifties bent to her and announced, "I am Peter's Dursley lawyer, Ms. Nixon. My name is Edwin Holden, and this is my co-worker, Kenneth Francis. Please rest assured we are not from Alpha Damien's troop. We work for Mr. Peter, you mus
118. Peter Dursley's broke free from the dungeons!? "Common enemy?" Maria parroted, her eyes enlarging fearfully. "Yes, Ms. Nixon, we want you to work with us and destroy our common enemy, Alpha Damien, like he destroyed our image and reputation in the world. He's caused irreparable damage to you and my client Mr. Dursley, and snatched away all your lawful rights of living a respectable life along with property. He needs to be stopped now and it's possible when you work with us and help us bring him down from his throne." His words scorched her pounding heart. Maria's breaths hitched. She never assumed Damien as her enemy. The farthest she could assume him was a devil reincarnated. She hated him for not listening to her. Hated him for accusing her of attempting to kill his wife and child. Hated him when he dragged her like a beggar. That day was fresh in her mind. She begged to be listened to but he didn't give a damn. She only meant to be a useful mistress while Aurora was dis
119. A menacing date night In the mansion, Aura stared out at the gray army of clouds as they wailed and stormily poured over the horizon. Placing a hand on the glass of the window, she felt the iciness creep into her palm. The rain was frosty and every drop plummeted like a bullet on the grass of bed. "Why is it raining so aggressively today?" She looked up at the sky that's draped the whole world in a blanket of fog. As long as her eyes could see, there was only pallidness. She never liked rains like these. This reminded her of that terrifying night when Damien misunderstood her and threw her out of the mansion, after accusing her of cheating on him. Goosebumps spread over her skin. Aura rubbed her arms and walked away. She no longer wished to look into the gray eyes of the sky and feel vulnerable. Pulling the curtains over the windows, she returned to her bed and sat down near the cot of her daughter. 'My heart throbs restlessly inside my chest. Why?' Taking a look at her
120. I told you I'll have her in my bed! Coming out of the car under the shelter of an Umbrella, they admired the rain and the silvery trails coming harshly on the ground. Damien's one arm was around her shoulder and one holding the umbrella. He loved this place for its simplicity. But looking at Aura's face, he can say she was not very happy. Her nose was creased and her eyes tentatively stared through mist and a heavy shower trail."I don't see any arrangements?" Aura raised her head to meet his eyes.Indeed there was nothing, for this place was an empty piece of land. Yet, what one sees must not be used to draw a final conclusion."Come on, I'll show you." Stretching his lips into a grin, he led themselves ahead.Aura's gown was completely drenched from the edge. There was dirt in her stilettos and she couldn't walk properly any longer. It was her good luck that Damien was walking by her side, or else she would have already collapsed. Much worse, she could have twisted her ankles
121. Alpha's agony Alpha Damien's POV 'Damien…' 'Damien…' Agonizing screams hurt my head. I could see Aura being dragged away towards a tornado. It was whirling crazily and she cried, her hair bouncing all over her face. My mate. My darling. She was wearing a torn dress. Rather ripped aggressively. There were bruises on her bare arms and a blood trail cascading down her exposed legs. She looked vulnerable. Tortured beyond repair. Her lips were inflated and a puncture in the corner of her lip bled. 'Damien, help me. Save me from that beast. Don't let me go, Damien. Please…' She was held by the hair and dragged ruthlessly. Aura. My respectful Luna was in the clutches of a black shadow. I couldn't see much as my eyes were blurry. But whatever it was… it's caused harm to my Aura, and only meant to worsen her physical condition. 'Don't let me slip away, Damien. Please… please…' She held her hand out and yelled my name louder. I jumped and struggled to take her hand, trying my best
