Brea’s POV When I woke up, the first people I saw were a man and a woman. They looked to be in their forties, their faces etched with concern. I shot upright, fear gripping my chest—until I recognized the room. I was back at Draco’s pack. The woman approached me slowly, tears streaming down her cheeks. “It’s okay, sweetheart. You’re safe now,” she said softly. “Where’s Leon?” I asked, shrinking away from her touch. Looking at them more closely now that I was fully conscious, I realized they resembled the Alpha King Aristes and Queen Luna Kayla. “Are you… The King and Queen?” I asked, wondering if I was still dreaming. My heart started to race. Then I remembered Loriah. “Loriah was with me. Where is she?” The Queen—Luna Kayla, or at least I assumed it was her—swatted the Alpha King’s arm. “Aristes, hurry. Call Loriah. Tell her our girl just woke up.” She moved closer, and I did not flinch this time. Aristes. He really was the Alpha King. He had been staring at
Draco’s PoV We got there first. We led the crowd straight toward the main entrance, a wave of bodies and voices surging forward. The guards at the gates panicked. I watched their eyes widen with fear and realization. Some dropped their weapons. Others fled, terrified of being exposed by the media already gathering. Out of sight, they shifted to wolf form and disappeared into the forest. “Fucking cowards,” Leo snarled beside me. Something caught my eye near the gate, a walkie-talkie abandoned on the ground. It crackled violently with sound. Someone was shouting on the other end. I picked it up slowly, my gaze lifting toward the mansion hidden deep within the woods. Richard’s lair. It always had been, ever since he’d faked his death. “Larry, what the fuck is going on?” Richard’s voice hissed through the device. “Why did you let all those humans through the gates?” I raised the walkie-talkie to my mouth, my voice calm.... deadly. “Your guards abandoned you, Richard. My
Loriah’s PoV I looked at Brea, who had finally fallen asleep. She was exhausted. She hadn’t slept much since she was taken, only feeling safe enough to rest after I arrived. A stern-looking woman had brought us food at least twice. It seemed safe to eat. I’d offered some to Brea before she drifted off and finally ate myself. She’d told me what happened to her in college, though everything sounded strange, her memories hazy. She said they’d made her drink something. Had Marla really wanted Caspian and Travis to go that far with her, or was she just trying to scare Brea? I wondered what time it was. It felt like ages since I’d left. Travis didn’t know about the chip my father put in me, so Draco and Leon should be on their way. A gnawing sensation settled in my stomach. Caspian’s intentions were clear, and Marla couldn’t watch him all the time. I was afraid he’d try something again. I stood abruptly when I heard the door open. My heart raced as I realized it was Caspian. “You…”
Draco’s PoV The moment I realized Travis was behind all of it, I knew he was going to try to lure Loriah out of the pack. Loriah’s father suggested putting a chip in her using the latest technology of his company. He had chipped his wife long ago, fearing she might get kidnapped. Ironically, he never chipped Marla but did so with Aria after just a few days of getting her back. "Are you sure of your plan? Will it work?" Alpha Magnus asked. The agony of the wait was killing us. He had just finished calming down Luna Layla. The Doctor had just checked her and told them she was pregnant. Such good news, clouded by Loriah and Brea’s kidnapping. "It will," Leon answered. He looked like he had aged at least 10 years. Our plan was risky, but it was our only chance to get them both back unharmed. Every minute without Loriah felt like a bullet train running loose. It was lucky that Alpha Magnus controlled all the surrounding technology. If those bastards weren’t using burners, we would
Loriah’s PoV Three days and no news. Draco has started to suspect Travis as well. He put someone to follow him and he found out he was pissed. He said that if he does not trust him, he can no longer be his Beta. Draco told him that he was right and named Ralph, one of his cousins Beta. Travis left fuming, but left Emma behind which was strange if she was his mate. "Emma, you can trust me," I asked the scared young woman. "Is Travis, really your mate?" She lowered her eyes her cheeks turned scarlet red. She is not, but he was so sure that she would maintain this charade. "Did you see anything the night Brea was kidnapped?" Her eyes went wide and she shook her head in denial. The fear in her expression was evident. "Emma, please. We need to save her. I will protect you, nothing will happen to you. Please talk." Emma started to cry. My phone buzzed in my pocket. I checked the text message that was sent from an unknown number. 'I got Brea. If you want her alive, you will need to
Leon's PoV "Someone Fucking check the cameras!!" I yelled feeling my heart being torn apart. My very soul has been snatched from under our noses. Brea, needs to be alright. I would never forgive myself if something were to happen to her again. "Do you think Richard’s people took her? " Loriah asks in a whisper. She looks pale and she's trembling. Draco puts an arm around her. I don't fucking know who took her but she fought fiercely. She must have been terrified and where had I been at the time? Sulking at the bar. "Where's fucking Travis!" Draco growls. His men told him he was gone, that his mate had an emergency. A mate that none of us has met yet. We went to the camera room, and almost thirty minutes of footage was wiped clean. Loriah’s knees buckled. Draco hugged her tightly as she buried her face in his chest crying. Marcus had already arrived and had ordered the cameras from every nearby traffic stop to be checked. Many guests left during these thirty minutes, inclu
Draco’s PoV I’d been tightening like a coiled wire all morning, every polite smile I’d given Marla at the gates a knife in my gut. The forest should have been mine this morning — my sanctuary, the one place I could breathe when the world closed in — and instead it felt like a chessboard where she
Loriah’s PoV had spent most of the day locked inside my cabin, avoiding Draco like the plague. His wife was here, and whatever pull there was between us, it wasn’t right. When a knock startled me, I brushed my hair back into a messy bun. When I opened the door, Greg stood there, drenched—his sh
Loriah’s PoV I folded another silk blouse into my suitcase, though my hands weren’t steady. My mind wasn’t on the trip—it hadn’t been since Draco’s arms wrapped around me and shattered every wall I had built over the last five years. Brea sprawled across my bed, chin propped on her palm, her eye
Loriah’s PoV The SUV door opened, and out stepped Draco and Leon. They walked toward us with the swagger that screamed alpha males on parade. My stomach dropped—half dread, half thrill. Brea’s reaction was instant. She crossed her arms and scowled. “Why are you here?” she snapped at Leon like he
