Alpha's Servant

“Why an intruder was allowed inside?”

Alpha roared, lashing out his anger.

“Luna has permitted Charlotte to work here, Alpha.”

Alpha’s eyes narrowed at the name of “Charlotte” like running through it in his memory. With a “Hunhh!” he turned back without even sparing a glance for that so called “intruder”.

Charlotte laughed at herself, braiding her knee length hair to show that she was busy, unfazed by Alpha’s fury.

Her shift went smoothly as Roslie was very kind to her. Despite of her zero knowledge of cooking, Roslie taught her basics and gave her simple tasks of washing and sweeping.

Charlotte noticed that Luna ate dinner with pack members in the Pack house. Whereas Alpha didn’t leave his office even for meals.

“How hard working he is!”

After midnight, she was scrubbing the floor for the tough oil stains when she heard intense enraged growls. She bowed her head more, like this feeble trick would make her invisible. Roslie came to her quite distressed, her face like a broken fuse,

“Our usual cleaner forgot to wash the curtains of Alpha’s room. Can you help me with ironing?”

Charlotte got up immediately, washed her hands and accompanied her to the laundry room.

“I was used to do all work alone. Perhaps I am getting older day by day.”

Roslie chuckled while drying brown silk curtains, reminiscing her past years at the Pack house. She was an omega born to the Pack’s omega cook. She took her mother’s place after her death. Her own daughter was mated to a warrior, so their family services ended with her.

She was a lady in late fifties. Obviously, it was the her age to rest. Charlotte took all of her work to herself, ironing those king size cloth piece in just half an hour. Well, that was almost a blessing for her plus size body. She worked faster and harder, having more stamina to endure thirst.

Along with the human meals, she was able to survive with one ration for the whole day. And today, she was like a rocket flying high due to the rouge’s powerful essence. In the hope of a chance to sneak in Alpha’s room with the excuse of curtains, she sent Roslie back, assuring her that she would take care of it.

With her heart thundering in her chest, Charlotte re-adjusted her shirt and her long snake like braid. Roslie told her that Alpha was not in his room, but still she knocked, laughing at her stupidity. She entered to be welcomed by the waves of his scent, calming her nerves at once. He was not in the room but his scent was fresh and strong enough to intoxicate Charlotte.

With utmost care, she hooked the curtains, matching with the brown-red covers and a thin blanket. Whole room was painted white unlike she expected black or grey, most Alpha’s favorite color. She jumped down from the stool finishing her task when a sudden verbal onslaught startled her,

“So, here is that ingrate little one, who didn’t even remember the promise of favor repayment. Hypocrite!”

Charlotte gulped hard before turning to face him. She looked at him frozen, glued to her spot. What else she could do when Alpha was deliberately shirt-less to scare her. She, who had just seen men naked in films or social media, flushed red at this open display. She was noticing Alpha’s upper body’s was different from the pictures she had seen where men had skin to tanned body colors.

Alpha’s shining white skin color was quite surprising, as well as alluring too. He wasn’t even waxed bare like the models, adorned with silver manly hair, according to her liking. Alpha was satisfied with her stunned reaction from her. He squinted his eyes, curling up his lips,

“So that’s how you decided to repay me? Standing like a statue in response?”

He gestured her to pour him a drink which broke Charlotte’s trance. She quickly poured a shot of 90ml brandy in a wine glass, thanking to her bar job which gave her basic info about liquor. Her finger got slightly touched with his while handing him the glass, a jolt of electricity passed through her cold body due to his scorching heat.

“You were supposed to spend your life for my life debt, how it ended up in full week’s vanishing and then working as a servant?”

Alpha proceeded his one sided conversation and looked at her seriously, expecting a response this time.

“Luna has allotted me this duty when I told her about my story. I was sick before. As soon as I recovered, I came here.”

That was a white lie. Charlotte prayed in her heart for Alpha to buy her poppycock.

Alpha’s expressions seemed to be soften at the mention of her sickness.

“I need a full time secretary to assist my work. You should fill that vacancy as you owe me your life. You will stay with me 24/7 , accepting my every command without any question. Are you ok with this?”

Charlotte swiftly nodded with enthusiasm, considering it as a golden chance to stay close to him.

“Your duty starts from now. Hop on the bed and lay under the blanket quietly.”

Her jaw dropped at his absurd demand, her wide eyes annoyed Alpha. He pointed her again. Suddenly, the door knocked. Without much thinking, she hid under the cover as she could not afford her savior’s anger by denying his first order.

Charlotte almost screamed when she felt a heat pad pressed on her body, an iron palm shutting her mouth. She squirmed under the weight, trying to break free, a familiar deep whisper smiled near her ear,

“Don’t move…!”
