Silver Moon Pack

Charlotte was tired of walking through that narrow path for an hour, which Alpha covered in minutes that night. Pleasant sun was suddenly covered by the uninvited black clouds, threatening to pour down in minutes.

Unexpectedly, there started a storm pushing her here and there. In five minutes, it started raining, making her wonder that whether she should go or not. Her clothes were wet, sticking over her body making her look like a homeless. But who was there to impress? Even in the outstanding clothes, she could not expect a glance of admiration from anyone. So, she moved forward this time with unwavering determination.

The continuous struggle of fifteen minutes finally resulted in the signs of the werewolf pack’s border. Mostly area was silent without any guard there.

“Isn’t it strange? Our border is heavily guarded and have three check posts. How they can be so careless?”

Then, she thought about Alpha Eric, it dawned to her that who would dare to attack his pack. Anyone who had a death wish would sign up for such madness. Her little basket was ruined due to heavy rain, so she abandoned it, throwing it away in the Jungle.

Several steps in, she saw a barrier and some guards sitting in a security room. As the only window was quite high and it’s door was across the barrier, she tip toed to knock in order to gain their attention. Her knock was answered immediately, a circle of strong warriors surrounded her, leaving her speechless.

Fortunately, their commander recognized her and granted her access to the Pack land. A grumpy soldier guided her to the Pack house, handing her to the Luna who was also surprised to see a vampire in her territory. Seeing her drenched in rain, she ordered an omega to give her a change and asked her to join after it.

After rejecting series of dresses, finally a suitable long skirt and a shirt was arranged for her. She left her knee length hair open to dry in air.

Charlotte was directed to a dining room where the same woman was waiting for her,

“Come here, dear. Join us for a cup of tea.”

Luna smiled and offered her snacks. Charlotte was more than grateful to her for letting her sit beside her. In her kingdom, low ranking vampires were not even allowed to sit on the floor in the presence of superiors, let alone having a luxury of expensive snacks.

Charlotte was keenly observing that middle-aged Luna with the same silver hair as Alpha Eric.

“You must be the same vampire that Eric saved last week. I was also very angry at our Pack’s security. They were such a disappointment. You must be here for Eric. What’s your name, dear?”

Charlotte was embarrassed at her popularity. She stammered while introducing herself,

“I ,I am Charlotte. I want to repay Alpha's favor but I don’t have anything valuable with me, so I would like to work here as servant.”

Although, Luna was a very kind looking woman, she was dreading for her refusal.

“If it’s your wish dear than I have no issues with it.”

With that, an old woman came in,

“Roslie, Charlotte will work in the kitchen. You were looking for a helper and a cleaner for the evening shift, she will take that place. Tell her about her working hours and other details about our pack rules.”

Roslie bowed and took Charlotte to the kitchen. She told her that she had to work from 7:00 pm to 1:00 am. Dinner for the pack members should be ready at 9:00 pm. Moreover, she will be given dinner too in addition to 1000 dollars per month.

Charlotte refused to accept the pay for work. She could not accept the money in the return of her services. Then finally, she asked her most anticipated question,

“Can I work extra time to serve Alpha kids too. Obviously, Luna has no problem with it.”

Roslie chuckled at her innocence.

“Luna is the Alpha’s mother and for Alpha’s mate, he is currently single. His mate died in a battle before his 19th birthday. Unfortunately, he doesn’t have any kids.”

Roslie was clearly disheartened at Alpha’s misfortune. She even shed two lines of tears for him. Contrary to her, a flower of hope blossomed in Charlotte’s heart. She was unable to hide her gleeful expressions, but still made up a sad face to go along with the mood.

It was the only lunch time when Roslie sent her with an omega to familiarize with the Pack house. Her tour guide, Flora, was a chatter box. She explained her whole pack’s conditions in a very short time.

She showed her the way to the Alpha’s office too. Charlotte’s mood got refreshed with the Alpha’s earthy aroma of rosewood. But to her dismay, it was locked as Alpha was out the town. She was pleasantly surprised when she was sent to dungeon for the 'lunch', who was already chained for her.

“No, Not this! Skin me alive if you want, but I can’t stand this insult.”

That rouge wolf was fighting against the hold, a warrior held his neck at place and eyed her to take him. She was hesitant and showed a bottle that she brought as ration with her,but that warrior, he slashed rouge’s neck, presenting it to Charlotte. That was the end of the argument.

After almost a decade, Charlotte had a fresh prey, but still she restrained herself and pulled back quickly. In the haze of fresh meal, she heard the announcement,

“A rouge will be bitten by this vampire daily. Those who are sentenced to death, will be killed by her. This rule will be applicable for all the past, present and future offenders.”

Charlotte was quite impressed with the Luna’s new rule. It was worse than death for a werewolf to be bitten by a vampire, not to mention a sired one in their eyes.

Indeed a woman like Luna could bear an outstanding child like Alpha.

She was sitting in the kitchen waiting for her duty time when suddenly, an uproar caught her attention. She turned and froze at red-eyed Alpha, huffing and panting, probably with the anger.

.

Immediately, she stood up, looking at him wide eyed…
