It was so cold. I felt my pulse quicken as I felt my feet imprinted on the grounds of broadway. The air thickened around me as I began to run quicker than I use to before. They were running after me in their wild forms. My canines brushed against my lips as I felt they getting closer to me . The moon was crimson red. Bones cracked as I shifted into a devilish looking werewolf. I dashed my way out of the woods.

The others did not stop, they continued their chase as if I was the only lone wolf in the universe. They have been trying to hunt me down for over four years now. However something was different , they were faster, sharper and stronger. The alpha must have sent great warriors. I guess my blood was precious enough for him to send this great warriors. My heart pumped blood. Shallow breaths made their way out of my lungs.

My limbs were sore from all the running. I wondered how much longer I could run away from them. It has been over 6 hours now. I was exhausted. The sun has dropped down. The moon had appeared in the sky. I came to a quick stop but my heart panicked. I could hear paws moving fast on the ground as my eyes quickly searched around the woods.

Where are the goddamn roads? I groaned to myself. I needed to find my way out of here as I could not longer hold the others off. Branches snapped behind me and a growl made its way to my ears. Fuck!! They are here, sniffing the air, I realized that they were going to surround me any time soon. As they were circling around me, trying to ambush me, but I did not surrender, not yet.

I found my way to the paved roads. As soon as I touched the ground. I shifted back to my human form, cold grazed over my nakedness as I wrapped my hands around my self before walking towards my car. Sitting inside, I checked the dangerous woods, they were gone already. I sighed, nice try but you guys can never catch me. I murmured to my self before twisting my key inside my car and switched the engine on.

I relaxed completely as the city appeared in my view. Broadway. The city that was ruled by the all mighty Alpha- Martin. As per the law of the city, wolves are not allowed to snap at other wolves in the city grounds. Blood could be only shed in the woods alone, nowhere else because humans resided almost everywhere. I also tried to dissolve with the humans and hide my natural scent, but sometimes it’s couldn’t be hidden.

Light flashed over me, I directed my eyes towards my packing lot. Once I sensed no danger, I threw on a jacket over my bare body and stepped out of my car. A loud sound came from my phone. It was ringing. I quickly grabbed my phone and looked at the caller ID, it was Sarah.

“Hey” I said as I picked up the call

“Hey, I have been waiting for over two hours now! I thought you were supposed to be here at seven? She snapped at me sounding irritated.

“I was packing my car. I will be up in a moment, stay put!” I replied.

“Alright ! Just another minute, if you are not here then I’m leaving asap” she said.

“Stepping in the elevator now” I said as I walked inside the building.

The call ended and I made my way inside the elevator. God I was exhausted. I was an unpleasant and rough evening.

“I’m sorry that I could not make it on time. I just had a situation to handle I said as I walked inside my apartment.

“Why are you naked? Did you go for a run? She asked as she glanced at my body

“No I got chased for 6 fucking hours”!! I exclaimed before drinking water.

“What?! Why?” Fright grasped her tone as she realized the truth

They are back on track -to fucking hunt me down," I replied to her.My bones were aching with tremendous pain as I crashed my body on my comfortable couch.

“Why you?” She asked.

Sarah was unaware of the Alpha and his pack. She only knew about little things about my world, after all She was a mere human. The little she knew was from me. I met her a few years back when I was running away from my own pack. We quickly bonded over a couple of beers at a nearby bar. And since then she has been the only friend I have. My best human friend.

I broke the wolf law by telling a human about our existence

“Because I’m a lone wolf, Sarah. They hunt down wolf like me.”

“Then it’s dangerous for you to be here, you should move I can come with you if you want” She said with worry laced in her tone .

I laughed “I can’t escape or move my dear, they would always find me . I can’t do anything expect hide and merge with human,” I explained to my friend.

They are unaware of my real name, job or anything else. They only thing they know is my stupid scent.

“Well you should get some rest, you look tired and exhausted,” Sarah said as she picked up her bag and headed for the door. I invited her over so we could hang out, but it seems like that would not be happening today.

“ I’m so sorry for today. Thank you so much for coming”. I hugged her with my aching body. She hugged me back.

“You don’t have to be sorry I understand you. Take care of your self and have a lovely rest okay.

She waved and walked out of my apartment. I felt guilty that she had to wait for me. Well, there is always another day to hang out.

Once she left. I went back to my lovely couch. My eyes looked up and I saw the calendar, I shrieked out, I realized that tomorrow was the blood moon — the day of mating.

Fuck no!!” The blood moon always stressed me out each and every time. The day of mating, the day of fulfilling desires and finding the one who you would stay with forever. I’m going to be sick.

The fear of been mated and been someone’s property for the rest of me life scares me. I could not even bear male wolves. Due to their stupid nature they were perceived to be possessive, aggressive and violent to their females. It’s also know that in werewolf world females were to be kept underneath men as they were more powerful. Foolish mentality. There is no chance I would ever mate with one of my own. I would rather die than get mated to a men that sees me as nothing be a sex slave, a weakling, a productive machine to bear children for him.

Peace didn’t arrive with a roar. It came quietly—like the slow steady healing of a scar—until one day the pack woke up and realized the fear that once clung to their bones had loosened its grip and vanished. The once-shattered stronghold of the pack now breathed with life again. Homes rebuilt with fresh timber. Fields replanted. Wolves who once slept lightly with one ear open now laughed without looking over their shoulders. Clara watched it all unfold from the balcony of the Alpha residence—a home that used to feel too large, too cold. Now, sunlight poured in through windows and the scent of cooked meals filled its halls. The house was filled with giggles, tiny footsteps, miniature chaos. Her daughter—Lyra—ran through the garden below, chasing a butterfly that glowed like moonlight condensed into wings. She squealed as it evaded her, then suddenly, the butterfly paused mid-air… almost like the air itself listened to the child’s delight. Magic. Her magic. Awakening quietly, bea

It started small. A flicker of breath against the air. A pulse that did not belong to ordinary blood. The first time Clara noticed it again was during a quiet afternoon nap. Her daughter lay in the cradle, small fingers twitching as if she was dreaming of running through fields she hadn’t yet seen. Clara sat beside her, humming a lullaby the way her mother once had. Then the room changed. The curtains fluttered… though the windows were closed. The shadows stretched… though the light was still. The air shimmered… like the moonlight was pouring itself inside the walls. Clara’s humming faded as her eyes widened. Her daughter’s eyes opened—bright as polished silver. Too bright. For a heartbeat, the baby stared up at Clara with a clarity that didn’t belong to a newborn. Like she was seeing her… truly seeing her. Then, just as suddenly, the silver dimmed back into soft gray-blue. The shimmer faded. The air stilled. The baby yawned. Clara’s heart pounded. She leaned closer an

The world had gone quiet again, but not in the way it once did after war. This quiet was softer. Livelier. Full of heartbeats and newborn laughter. The packhouse, once echoing with orders and battle cries, now smelled like milk, smoke from the rebuilt kitchens, and blooming moonflowers. Wolves passed through the corridors carrying planks, fabrics, and baskets instead of weapons. The sound of hammers had replaced growls. The sound of life returning. Inside the Alpha’s home, Clara sat by the open window, her daughter nestled against her chest. The child was impossibly small, wrapped in white cloth, sleeping to the rhythm of her mother’s heartbeat. Martin watched from the doorway, his usually commanding frame leaning against the wood, quieter now—almost reverent. “She looks like you when you’re pretending to be mad at me,” he said softly. Clara smiled without looking up. “Then you should be afraid already.” He chuckled and crossed the room, crouching beside her chair. His hand brus

The days began to stretch longer. Peace had a strange rhythm — slower, quieter, but never empty. For Clara, it took time to get used to. No midnight raids. No whispers of enemies in the woods. Just sunlight filtering through the trees, the scent of warm bread, and the small sound of Lyra’s laughter echoing through the den. At first, she thought she’d go mad with the stillness. Then she started to breathe again. Martin had changed too. He no longer rose before dawn to inspect the borders; he woke beside her now — sometimes with his face buried against her neck, his breath steady, his arm wrapped possessively around her waist. He still carried the weight of leadership in every movement, but the sharpness that once defined him had softened. One morning, Clara found him outside, shirt sleeves rolled up, repairing a section of the fence that had long since been forgotten. “You could’ve asked for help,” she said, leaning against the doorway, a teasing smile on her lips. “I did,”

The council house was rebuilt first — not because it was grand, but because it stood at the heart of the territory. Once, it had been the Alpha’s hall — a place of commands and judgments. Now, its doors were thrown open from dawn till dusk. Wolves came not to kneel, but to speak. Martin had insisted on that. “We can’t rule the way we used to,” he’d said one morning, his voice steady as he looked out over the clearing. “A kingdom built on fear doesn’t survive peace.” So, on the third week after the Blood Moon, the first assembly was held. The benches were rough, the roof unfinished, and the scent of wet pine still lingered in the air. But the pack filled the space — warriors, hunters, healers, elders, even the children who peeked from doorways with wide eyes. Clara sat near the front, Lyra nestled in her arms, while Isreal leaned against a pillar with his usual half-smirk, pretending not to care but listening closely. Martin stood at the center. He wore no crown, no armor — only

  • Alpha’s Obsession    Chapter 123

The rain stopped two days after the Blood Moon, as if the skies themselves had decided to rest. By then, the pack house no longer smelled like smoke and iron, but of earth and new timber. Wolves worked shoulder to shoulder, patching walls, clearing debris, and replanting the fields that had been trampled by war. The rhythm of rebuilding became its own kind of music — hammers thudding, laughter rising, paws shifting across wet soil. From the porch, Clara watched them with a calm heart. Her recovery had been slow but steady. The healers insisted she rest, yet she often found herself drifting outside just to see everyone — to remind herself that the world was still moving, that it hadn’t stopped in fire and loss. Lyra lay sleeping in the crook of her arm, bundled in pale cloth that smelled faintly of wild mint and moonflower. The faint pulse of her tiny heartbeat was enough to anchor Clara to the present. “Are you supposed to be out here?” She turned at the sound of Isreal’s voice.
