Chapter 7

Dominic’s POV

I was so angry that I felt my own blood boiling.

I stood there, staring at Selena as the truth burned through every layer of control I’d ever had. My wolf howled inside me, demanding that I rip her apart.

She knelt before me, trembling, her face pale, tears streaking her cheeks. “Dominic, please—”

“Don’t,” I growled. My voice was no longer entirely my own. It was deeper, rougher, the voice of the beast that had been silenced for too long. “You dare speak my name after what you’ve done?”

Her lips trembled. “I didn’t.”

“Shut up!” The sound echoed, sharp as thunder. My control snapped, and before I knew it, I’d crossed the space between us. My hand wrapped around her throat, lifting her off the ground effortlessly.

Her hands clawed at my wrist as she gasped, feet kicking weakly in the air. “Please,” she croaked, “Dominic—”

I stared into her eyes, searching for even a flicker of remorse but all I saw was fear. And fear was not repentance. Fear was just the realizat

Aurelia’s POVFire swallowed everything. It crawled along the wooden beams above us, greedy and alive, devouring the supports with sharp, cracking pops that echoed like gunshots. Burning embers rained down, biting into my skin, scorching through fabric. I screamed as sparks burnt my arms, my neck, my hair.Smoke filled my lungs.Thick. Black. Suffocating.I coughed violently, my throat burning as if I were inhaling knives. My eyes stung, tears streaming down my face as I struggled to keep them open. Every breath felt useless, like I was drowning on dry land.“Move!” the rogue barked hoarsely, dragging me forward by the arm.I stumbled, my legs weak, my vision blurring as the heat pressed in from all sides. The dungeon was collapsing in on itself, fire roaring behind us, stone groaning overhead like a dying beast.Behind me was a loud scream. “AURELIA!”Dominic’s voice. It cut through the chaos like a blade. My heart lurched violently as I twisted my head, coughing as smoke tore at my

Aurelia’s POVThe dungeon smelled of smoke.Blood. Fear. Old stone soaked with centuries of screams. My body was still trembling from the rogue’s grip when the shadows shifted again. At first, I thought it was my vision blurring from pain, my eyes struggling to adjust in the dim torchlight. Then a clap. The sound echoed unnaturally loud.Clap.Clap.Every muscle in my body locked.“Well, well,” Liam's voice drawled from the darkness. “Would you look at this?”My heart plummeted straight into my stomach as he stepped closer. Something about this man terrified me so much that I feared for Dominic. And to make it worse, Dominic had come here alone to fight these monsters.Firelight licked across his face, revealing that same cruel, wolfish grin, the one I had seen too many times in courtrooms, council chambers, and the freaking dungeon. The grin of a man who enjoyed destruction far too much. Sometimes I wondered the things he has done ever since he got betrayed by his family. He clapped

Dominic's POV The moment I stepped into that cursed corridor, my senses screamed at me.I smelled her before I saw her. Her fear. Her blood. Her desperation. It hit me like a physical blow, hammering my chest, twisting my insides. And there she was, chained like a dog while she stood trembling, and the rogue pressing a blade to her stomach. A thin line of blood had already begun to trickle down from where the metal bit into her flesh. My wolf howled in agony inside me, claws itching to tear this man apart, but my mind screamed for me to be careful and look out for traps. The corridor was too narrow. One wrong move, and she would be dead before I even touched him.“Step back,” I growled, my voice trembling with fury, the glowing gold of my eyes reflecting every ounce of my anger. “Let her go.”The rogue just laughed. “Let her go? You think I would let go of… this?” He gestured toward Aurelia with the tip of the blade. “She’s the key, Alpha King. And you? You have nothing to offer me

Aurelia's POV.The door creaked open.I froze, my chest tightening, my heart hammering like a drum in my ribs. Shadows stretched across the dungeon floor, and through the gloom, a tall masked figure appeared.I pressed myself against the wall. My fingers curled, and my knuckles turned white. My heels clicked weakly against the floor as I tried to back away, trying to make myself invisible. The man sniffed the air, tilting his head to the side. “You… are Liam’s puppet, yes?” he muttered with an extremely low voice that sounded like almost a growl.I shook my head, teeth gritted. “Who… who are you?” My voice trembled despite my attempt to sound fierce. He moved closer, and then he removed his mask halfway. My eyes widened at the jagged tattoo etched across his jaw, My stomach dropped. He wasn’t from here. He was from a foreign pack, one that I knew would be so dangerous.“I am sent,” he said simply, eyes flicking toward the hall behind him. “Your master’s orders. Dominic’s warriors have

Aurelia’s POVI woke to the sound of water dripping. Slowly, painfully, my eyelids fluttered open, and the dim light of the dungeon revealed a new horror. I didn't remember when I fainted or how I even got here in the first of place. All I remembered was Dominic trying to save me before the fire explosion. The floor was slick, flooded with cold, dirty water that lapped against my ankles and seeped into my tattered clothes. The chill immediately pierced my bones, and I shivered violently.I tried to stand, my wrists was sore and bruised from the chains. I pressed my hands against my drenched clothes, as I tried to squeeze some of the water out, trying to make myself more mobile, more prepared, more ready to escape.Liam was nowhere in sight. The realization hit me like a wave. For a moment I allowed myself a thought I hadn’t dared for days: maybe I could find a way out of this hell hole. I could squeeze through the small, barred window high on the wall. I crept toward the window, car

Aurelia’s POVI woke with a burning, jarring pain in my shoulders and wrists. My body screamed against the cold metal chains that dug deep into my flesh. I blinked against the harsh torchlight, the flickering flames casting jagged shadows across the walls. My heart dropped. The arena… the auction hall. It hadn’t been a nightmare. It was real.Every sound made my chest tighten, the jeers, the laughter, the clinking of coins as rogue alphas bid on me. My stomach churned, bile rising as I realized exactly what Liam had done. This wasn’t just an attack; this was a performance. A grotesque exhibition of power. A trap meant to humiliate Dominic and insult his throne. My eyes scanned the hall. Rogue after rogue, all of them were old men eith pot belly hungry for a prize they thought they could buy. Their eyes were cold, predatory. My chains rattled as I struggled. “This nonsense has to stop,” I whispered, my throat tight. My fingers scraped the metal, trying to gain purchase. My shoulders th
