ARES POV

I sat in my study; my fingers were shaking as I smoked cigarette after cigarette. My mind was in complete turmoil; all my threats were gone, all of them. I expected a happily ever after with Dahlia; even though I knew she wasn’t who she claimed to be, it suddenly didn’t matter anymore. My love had reached new heights for her, and all I wanted in this whole world was for her to remain by my side.

But I wasn’t battling just any werewolf or Lycan, and my obstacle was the Moon goddess herself.

“You can’t lose her, Ares. You have to do everything within your power to keep her.” Leo said.

Although inside of me, his voice was as sad as Jeremy’s.

“What can I do, Leo? It’s not in my hands anymore; if it was against mere mortals, I would have handled the situation and kept my Luna. How am I supposed to hold her back if it was the wish of the moon goddess to take her?” I asked the thought of Dahlia leaving for good didn’t even want to register in my mind.
