KALILA’S POV

There was something about the way the guards regarded me when they led me outside the palace. I only thought about it more the next day after I woke up on a pile of carefully selected grasses. When I had stopped struggling and accepted that Ares hated and rejected me, I just let the guards take me away.

Outside the pack house, they had let me go instead of dragging me all the way and I walked out with them by my side with a little dignity. I couldn’t find Jeremy anywhere, he probably didn’t want to set his eyes on me either. The guards gave me a bemoaning look before they bowed and said, “So long, Luna Dahlia.”

They still acknowledged me as the Luna, I had won almost everyone over in the past two months and a few weeks. I thought about Angela and how she would react when she figured out that I was gone. Perhaps, she would be as disappointed as Ares and Jeremy after learning about the secret I had kept from them.
