Arthur’s POV

I was up before the sun, standing at the window with my arms crossed, watching the fog lift over the palace grounds. The gates were still closed, but the sound of hooves in the distance was growing louder.

I didn’t realise I was holding my breath until the gates creaked open.

The royal carriage rolled through, flanked by two lines of guards on horseback. At its side, riding tall and straight, was Frank. His silver-streaked hair was tied back, and his eyes scanned the grounds like no time had passed at all.

The carriage came to a stop.

I turned, heading for the stairs.

Liz followed.

By the time we reached the main entrance, the guards were already moving to open the carriage door.

Philip Wiston stepped.

He hadn’t aged. Not in the way other men did. His jaw was still sharp, posture perfect. The weight of his crown might’ve been passed down to me, but he wore the idea of it like it still belonged to him.

His eyes landed on me.

“Arthur,” he nodded.

“Father.”

Behind him, Fran

Cecilia’s POVI stood there, frozen, watching him fall apart.Arthur was on his knees, cradling Liz in his arms. His arms wrapped around her, pulling her close, as if holding her body would be enough to bring her back. Her head rested against his chest. Her face was still, but looked peaceful.Arthur was shaking. Tears ran down his cheeks in steady, silent lines, soaking into her hair as he whispered her name again and again like it was the only word left that made sense.“Please, Liz… please… don’t leave me…”His voice didn’t sound like his anymore. There was no Alpha King in that voice. No strength.Just a boy. A broken boy, begging the world to give him back the one thing he couldn’t protect.Finn stood a few feet away, his eyes wide and unblinking, staring at his hands. They were covered in blood.Liz’s blood.I’d seen Finn fight a thousand battles. I’d seen him break bones and crush threats without flinching. I’d seen him return from war, soaked in red like it meant nothing.B

Liz’s POVMelissa bowed her head slightly. “Tatum,” she said softly. “Please. You know I wouldn’t bring strangers unless it was necessary.”My legs felt like they were sinking into the earth. A sharp pain growing stronger with every passing second began to grow deep inside my chest.I shifted my weight to my other foot, hoping no one noticed how I swayed.Tatum’s eyes swept over all of us. When they landed on me, the pain flared. Like it knew it had been seen. My breath caught. I forced it back down, locking my jaw before the tremble could escape.“I feel it on her,” Tatum murmured, her voice like cracked bark. “The rot. The burn of old magic.” I tried to listen, really tried, but everything was muffled. My ears rang faintly, as if someone had struck a bell inside my skull, and it kept vibrating.Even Arthur’s voice was distant now, but I still heard the heat in it.“She doesn’t have time for your judgment,” he snapped. “Let us through.”Tatum didn’t even flinch. “This is sacred lan

Liz’s POV“Liz,” Arthur’s voice was low, close.Warm fingers brushed along my jaw. “We’re here.”My eyes fluttered open, and for a second, I didn’t know where I was. The weight of sleep still dragged at me. I sat up slowly, blinking against the light, trying to remember how long we’d been driving.I looked around. The car was stopped. Outside the window stood towering trees, thicker than anything I’d seen before. And beyond those gates.Massive ones. Ancient iron twisted with thick vines, carved with markings I didn’t understand. They stood tall, guarding the entrance like silent giants. Behind them, shadows flickered. My stomach twisted.I turned sharply to Arthur. “I slept?”He nodded gently. “The whole way.”My chest tightened, guilt curling inside me. I hadn’t meant to sleep. I didn't want to waste a single second. Not when every moment counted. Not when time felt like it was slipping faster with every breath. What if those hours were all I had left? What if I’d closed my eyes a

Diana’s POVThe knock came just as I was pulling my shoes on. Getting ready to go for my run.I opened the door to find a tall man standing there. Dark coat, serious face. Military in every inch of his posture.“Diana?” he asked.I nodded, instantly cautious.“General Frank,” he said, offering a small smile. “I’ve come with something for you. From Liz.”The name hit me catching my breath in my throat.“Liz?” My voice cracked on her name. “She's…?”I missed her more than anyone would ever know.“She’s alive,” he said gently, handing me an envelope tied with ribbon. “She asked me to bring this to you.”My fingers barely worked as I reached for it. For a second, I couldn’t breathe. My vision blurred before I’d even read a single word. My name was on the back in her handwriting. No one else could've faked that. It was really her.I stood there, hands trembling as I opened the letter.Dear Diana, I don’t even know how to start this. You were my best friend. My sister in every way that ma

Carlos’s POVI stood in front of the mirror, adjusting my shirt, brushing a speck of lint from the collar.I hadn’t wanted to take the position not like this. Not with Lumian spiralling the way he had. But someone had to lead. Someone had to stop the bleeding. Someone had to look the pack in the eye and make them believe in something again.Lumian hadn’t taken it well. At first, he acted like it was some kind of betrayal. But the truth was, he hadn’t been in any state to lead. He was consumed and obsessed, Lost in his own guilt and grief when it came to Liz. He didn’t even fight me after the first few days. He just stopped showing up. Locked himself in his room, eyes hollow, drinking more than talking. The scent of coffee wafted from the kitchen. I walked in and poured myself a mug, needing the heat to ground me. My father sat at the table."Big day," he said."Yeah," I murmured, taking a sip. Then there was a knock at the door.My father went to stand, but I shook my head."I got it.

  • Alpha's Regret After I Died    Chapter 151

Liz’s POVI sat down at the desk, pulled out the parchment and ink that had been left there, and stared at the blank page. How do you tell the people you love you’re alive again, but there's a chance you're dying… again? My hands trembled as I reached for the pen. This wasn’t just about me. This was about the people I left behind. My parents. My brother. Diana.I owed them more than silence.I’d thought about it a thousand times in my head about what I’d say if I ever got the chance. But now that I had it, the words wouldn’t come. Not yet.So instead, I sat there, breathing. Letting the weight of everything settle into the cracks that still ached inside me.I was afraid.Afraid that my words wouldn’t be enough.Afraid that they’d hate me for staying away. For not coming to them in person. But how could I?How could I look into their eyes, after all this, and not fall apart completely? The ink touched the page, and I let it happen. One stroke at a time. Two letters. One for my family.
