Olivia’s PoV.

After I drifted back to sorrowful and painful sleep. I didn’t know for how long, until I was awakened by Dr. Chloe.

I opened my eyes to find her next to me. "Luna Olivia, how are you feeling?" She asked gently, but with the same pitiful look as Katherine’s. Goddess.

"Worse than I look," I answered. My throat was parched and I felt so frail. I felt ancient.

My body already felt as if it were withering by the minute, shriveling from the inside out without Vanilla to sustain me. Vanilla, my heart squeezed every time I thought of her. The hollow pain in my chest was unbearable. Each breath came weaker than the last, and even the simple act of existing was agony.

Dr. Chloe looked nervous. "Luna, you need to talk to Alpha Damien. Your results came in... you're pregnant." She whispered nervously. Everyone was afraid of Damian somehow.

The words took the air out of my lungs. For a fleeting moment, warmth bloomed in my chest—hope, joy, life. But just as quickly, the weight of reality crushed it. Pregnant. At such a time. Under such circumstances. Is my child suffering like I am? Dr. Chloe must have sensed my thoughts and responded to my question.

"Your current condition is not safe for the fetus. If you want your child to have a safe delivery, Alpha Damien needs to lift the curse.”

Lift it? But he felt justified. He felt it was his duty.

"Luna you're pregnant?!" Katherine spoke with excitement from the door. "You need to talk to Alpha Damian. I'm sure he..."

I shook my head, stopping her from continuing. "I will talk to him. Please don't mention it to anyone." I said firmly, but I was still shaking.

Chloe and Katherine shared a look.

"As you wish Luna. Of course," Both of them agreed.

“I still think you should tell him soon. I’m sure he would not want to endanger his heir.” Katherine remarked, her eyes softening as she looked at my hands curled on my stomach.

Later I was discharged. Damian was still a no-show. I was not prescribed anything except some simple painkillers. There was no medicine against witchcraft. Only the vague hope that Damian would take pity on me and lift the curse, before it was too late.

Katherine took me back home. She stayed with me for a while. We didn’t speak, but just her presence was comfort enough. I asked her to leave me in the living room, before she left.

Just as she was leaving, Katherine’s phone rang. She picked it up and kept walking. "Hey, Adam..." That was Katherine’s brother. Levi's former Beta. He had moved to the Craw Pack three years ago when Damian relieved his brother Levi from the Alpha title. Their voices drifted away.

I just curled up on the sofa. The pain in my chest was not receding. I waited for Damien from dawn to dusk. Foolishly hoping he had a change of mind, that his love for me would win. But what if his love had already died?

It was a long time before Damian finally came home. I had drifted into an uneasy sleep on the sofa, only to be stirred awake when I felt strong arms lifting me.

He was carrying me upstairs.

“Damian,” I said weakly as I leaned against his chest, finding comfort in his scent. He lay me on the bed arranging my pillows gently as if he still cared, but I knew better than to let him fool me anymore. The knot in my chest tightened.

“Did you eat?” Damian finally asked. I nodded, but the truth is I couldn’t even if I tried. There was a constant lump in my throat.

“Damien…” He started getting ready for bed as I spoke. “We haven’t been using birth control, and I was thinking. What if I’m pregnant? Would you lift the spell?”

He rose from the bed abruptly.” Nonsense! What makes you think that you’re pregnant?” His eyes narrowed. He was alarmed.

I swallowed, afraid. “It only came to mind because I heard that you have already proclaimed Vivian’s child as your heir. What about our children, Damian? Don’t you think that would be unfair for them?” I asked. “Would you choose her child instead of ours?”

His eyes flashed with anger. “Goddess, Olivia. Do you hear yourself?! My brother sacrificed his life for me. Have you seen Vivian and how miserable she is right now? My brother was her fated mate. If my brother hadn’t saved me, it would have been you in her place!”

My eyes glistened. He had never been this cruel with me before, he had never yelled at me, much less for another woman. He softened and put his hands on my shoulders looking affectionately at me, but his words were poison.

“Olivia, even if you were pregnant, I couldn’t lift the curse. It would endanger Vivian and her child. I can’t let anything happen to them. My duty is to protect my only brother’s bloodline. You need to keep your jealousy in check. It is uncalled for.” Then he hugged me kissing my temple, making me feel repulsed.

“We will have many children in the future, a child for us right now couldn’t arrive at the worst moment.”

I shook, with anger and a chill ran deep through my bones. How can Damien be so cruel? Willing to sacrifice not only his fated mate but his own child.

A vague but increasingly firm idea appeared in my mind.

I needed to leave him. To escape.

And for that, I would need help. My family. The Alpha King’s blood ran through my veins. I have left them once. But now—for me, and for my child—I would have to return.

Olivia’s PoV Vivian was almost hyperventilating when she planted herself between the Delta warrior and Ashley, who looked at Vivian weakly. Damian growled, angrily. “Stay away from this Vivian! This doesn’t concern you. Derek, take my brother’s wife back to her place.” Damian ordered the other Delta warrior as he waved Vivian dismissively, but Vivian was not one to back down easily. She approached Damian with a pleading look. “Damian, whatever she did, forgive her please. Do it for me. She has been very helpful to me during this time.” She gave Damian a meaningful look as she rubbed her slightly grown stomach. Damian seemed to realize something and ordered the Delta to stop. “Take that eye sore to the pack’s hospital.” He growled not even bothering to look at the broken Ashley. I let out a breath of relief when the Delta carried her out of the dungeons. Thankfully Vivian arrived on time. I can’t believe I’m thankful that my husband’s ex-girlfriend managed to stop the punishm

Olivia’s PoV Damian’s face turned cold as he gave Ashley a menacing glare. Ashley stood there acting like a pathetic weakling. She was such a good actress; if I hadn’t seen her true colors before, I would have pitied her. “Your Luna asked you a question, woman. Answer her!!” Damian ordered her. He stood there radiating Alpha dominance. Ashley immediately cowered. I truly believe she fears him somehow. She looked at me but quickly lowered her head, as she spoke in a humble tone. “Luna… I was tidying up the sofa earlier and one must have fallen on accident. It won’t happen again.” She stammered and looked at me once again to see if I believed her lies. “Is this what you call tidying up?” I scoffed as I pulled a pair of purple panties from behind the cushion holding it up with a pen and dropping them on the floor quickly, feeling my guts revolt. It was when I came back downstairs again that I found the offending garment sticking out from under the couch. They did it here, in m

. Damian's PoV Contrary to my better judgment, when Olivia asked me to bring Ashley with me, I didn’t hesitate. I’ve been driving myself up the walls unable to touch Olivia. I need to quench my desires somehow and she handed me the best opportunity. Ashley was straddling me on the floor, when I remembered to check the time. “Fuck!” I looked at my watch pushing Ashley away. It’s almost six, Olivia must be on her way by now. “Alpha, what happened?” A startled Ashley asked as she picked her clothes from the floor. “Why didn’t you remind me of the time?” I said icily. “I… I lost track of time too.” She said meekly as she blushed. I did not miss the small smug look on her face, even if it was fleeting. I gave her a cold glare. “Don’t ever think this is more than a convenient fuck, witch. You’re easy and available as well as good at what you do. Once my Luna recovers from the curse, you will go back to getting scraps.” She nodded, lowering her head. “Yes, Alpha.” She

Olivia’s PoV It didn’t take long for Damian to leave. This gathering is not his usual idea of fun. I was sitting alone as Katherine and Mrs. Agatha were still bringing out food from the kitchen. “Olivia, I have something important to deal with. It’s time to go back.” My eyes snapped onto him. I didn’t want to leave so soon. “Damian, I want to stay a little longer. Let Katherine drive me back home.” I asked gently. “And take Ashley with you. I don’t need her.” Damian turned to look at Ashley who was standing expectantly not far from him. She had been looking uneasy after the dog incident. Damian’s eyes lingered a little too long on Ashley and to my surprise, he agreed to both things. “Fine, Katherine can drive you back. Don’t stay for long.” Damian said as he kissed my hand. “I will be home by six. Thank you, Damian.” He nodded and turned to leave. Ashley walked hurriedly behind him looking nervously at her surroundings. She walked fast until she was very close to Damian.

Olivia’s PoV Three days later. These past few days. Everything has been fine. I have been resting at home, and I’m glad that, aside from feeling weak, I haven't experienced any pain. At least not physical, but every time I remember Vanilla, the void in my chest still suffocates me. I don’t think I’ll ever get used to her absence. Damian has been hovering over me like a mother hen. He got scared from the last time I got admitted to the hospital. He knows that if something happens to me, it would be the end of Vivian’s pup. I put a protective hand on my stomach. My own pup is at risk, too, and he is my only priority. I don’t wish anything bad for Vivian’s child, but why is he more important to Damian than his own child? Damian entered then with a plate of fruit. I was sitting on the balcony soaking in the sun rays. Watching the pack members going on about their lives like any other Tuesday. Whereas I lived in constant worry that Damian would discover I was pregnant and make m

Ashley's PoV I slipped out of Damian’s office like a shadow. I learned to become one when I was a slave in the black market. I had been whipped countless times just for simply existing, so I always tried to blend in, to become a shadow until it was engraved in my bones. Anything but being whipped, I hated it. My body shivered just thinking about it. I had resigned to that miserable life, where pain and hunger were my daily constant. Until he came. My Damian, my savior. When he bought me, he gave me a place to stay, and he made me feel needed and cared for. He made me feel alive again. He says my whole purpose is to serve him but it’s not a job when I love doing that for him. The only obstacle to my complete happiness is Olivia. I had stepped on their wedding portrait on my way out, the one Damian threw earlier in a fit of rage, and it shattered. I giggled. I hate how Damian always defends that woman. He always belittles me for her. The sooner she gets out of the picture the
