Pack Echoes and Hidden Debts

Author: Emily J.
(Lucian's POV)

My pack communication device buzzed again. Cassandra's name flashed on the screen for the fifth time. I silenced it with a swipe of my thumb, my patience wearing thin.

Beside me in the luxury SUV, Elara sat quietly. Her face had paled considerably since ending her call with Caleb.

"Do you need to go back to Ocean City in a hurry?" I asked, keeping my voice gentle.

"Caleb's... mother, Theresa Rivers, she's out of the silver-laced containment facility," she finally said, her voice barely above a whisper. "She said she wants to see my wolf."

"You don't seem pleased," I observed.

Elara's fingers twisted together in her lap. "I don't even know what to call her. How do you address the woman who both saved and condemned you?"

(Elara's POV)

Memories surged through me like a bitter tide. After the Stone Pack cast me out, Caleb took me in. We lived in his small neutral territory den. Theresa Rivers was still free then, not yet imprisoned for her role in the identity swap.

  • Alpha's Regret After I Mated to His Brother   Pack Vengeance and Unexpected Dangers

**(Selena's POV)**I laughed coldly, staring at the unconscious Alpha Gray on the floor."Luna Grace is my childhood pack friend," I told Julian Foster, who was watching me with wide eyes."When she was thirteen, Luna Grace moved to Northern Ridge Territory with her pack. We kept in touch through pack communication devices."Julian waited quietly, sensing there was more."Five years ago, she formed a mate bond. An arranged marking. She sounded happy then."My voice turned bitter. "Three years ago, Luna Grace called me howling. She wanted to sever her mate bond."I kicked Alpha Gray with contempt. "She said her mate was abusing her. That she would cross into the eternal hunting grounds if she had to continue.""She filed for mate bond severance, but the Pack Council rejected it. Not enough evidence, they said."My paws clenched. "A year ago, she finally got the severance certificate. But they had a pup together, so there were still forced meetings.""Half a year ago, Luna Grac

**(Diana's POV)**The Pack Council enforcement office walls felt like they were closing in on me. I sat in the cold metal chair, my claws digging into my palms."I'm not silver-mad!" I shouted at the enforcer. "Alpha Hale was my mate! Call him!"The enforcer looked at me with pity. "Ma'am, you need to contact your pack members. See a wolf psychologist. These delusions—""They're not delusions!" I slammed my paw on the table. "He'll confirm everything!"But even as I said it, panic crept in. Who could verify my story? Then it hit me—Lucy Silver. She'd witnessed our temporary mate marking ceremony years ago.I grabbed my communication device, then froze. Lucy was dead. I'd had her killed just days ago to protect my secrets. The bitter irony made me sick. In trying to erase all traces of Thomas Reed, I'd destroyed my only witness."I had someone," I whispered. "But she's... no longer available."The enforcer nodded sympathetically. "Would you like to call family?"**(Diana's POV

  • Alpha's Regret After I Mated to His Brother   Pack Confrontations and Bitter Truths

**(God's POV)**Harold Foster's face turned as dark as a moonless night. The public humiliation Diana Reed had just delivered cut deeper than any silver blade. For over twenty hunting seasons, she had acted as if everything revolved around her, and now her true nature was finally exposed.Elara Rivers sighed, watching Harold chase after Diana's retreating figure like a lost pup. "Can he truly accept Diana's real nature when it's this blatantly exposed? The she-wolf is completely silver-touched."Simon Foster frowned, his analytical mind already working through the legal implications. "Unfortunately, Diana's pup could indeed claim part of our hunting territories by pack law. She has grounds for a legitimate challenge."Madam Evelyn Foster spoke with surprising calm, her voice steady despite the chaos around them. "Let Diana pursue it. Let her show everyone exactly what kind of wolf she really is."Simon nodded to James Foster, Julian Foster, and Elara. His expression grew serious a

**(Elara's POV)**I arrived at Foster Pack Enterprises early, clutching my new ID. The name "Elara Foster" stared back at me."The old Elara Rivers is dead," I whispered. "The one returning now is Elara Foster.""Morning, Miss!" Olivia Hayes laughed, embracing me from behind. "I'm here to start my new job!"I pushed her away, smiling. "You left Silver Moon Boutique? You were den manager there!""That place had no future. You need capable wolves, and I'm the best you'll find."Olivia was perfect for our territory project department. James supported all my recruitment efforts since learning I was his sister."Report to Pack Resources den," I told her. "Straight ahead, then turn right."Olivia grinned. "Did you try those hunting tutorials I sent? Any pup news?"My face burned red. "Those weren't for me - they were for Lucian!""Your mate spoils you," she laughed.I grew serious. "Olivia, you'll meet the wolf who loves you most. Don't give up, no matter how dark things get. He m

  • Alpha's Regret After I Mated to His Brother   Pack Schemes and Broken Bonds

**(Madam Evergreen's POV)**My eyes widened as Madam Evelyn Foster's words hit me like a silver blade. "You're finally going to sever your mate bond with Harold?"The luxury SUV hummed quietly as we traveled through Ocean City's moonlit streets. Elara had fallen asleep against her mother's shoulder, exhausted from the evening's chaos."It's the only way," Madam Evelyn said, her voice carrying steel determination I hadn't heard in years. "If Harold gains nothing from our bond severance, Diana Reed will become the most anxious wolf in the pack."I studied my oldest friend's profile in the dim light. "You think exposing her desperation will finally open Harold's eyes to her true nature?""Diana has been pulling his strings for decades," Madam Evelyn replied coldly. "When she realizes her meal ticket is disappearing, she'll reveal exactly what kind of wolf she really is."A sigh escaped my lips despite my support for her decision. "Evelyn, I have to ask... is Alpha Hale influencing t

  • Alpha's Regret After I Mated to His Brother   Pack Ambush and Hidden Identities

**(Alpha Hale's POV)**Cold water crashed over my face like a silver blade, jolting me back to consciousness. My head throbbed with excruciating pain as I tried to focus my vision. The abandoned den around me reeked of decay and rogue wolf scent. Rusted chains bound my wrists to a concrete pillar, the metal biting into my skin."Well, well. Look who's finally awake."The voice sent ice through my veins. I knew that gravelly tone, that predatory smile. Kane Silver stepped into the dim moonlight filtering through broken windows.Twenty years hadn't been kind to the rogue wolf mercenary. His fur was grayer now, scarred from countless territorial disputes. But those cold eyes remained unchanged - the same eyes that had tried to silver-burn Madam Evelyn all those hunting seasons ago."Surprised to see me alive, Thomas?" Kane's laugh was sharp and cruel. "I heard you took a silver bullet for that Foster she-wolf back then. Thought you were feeding the moonworms by now."My mind raced
