"Hello, this is Doctor Amelia from Trinidad Hospital. How can I help you?" The voice of the surgeon sounded through the phone after she picked up the call.
---
"Doctor Amelia," I repeated unknowingly, as the name reminded me of the Amelia I have been searching for for the past six years, and also, her voice somehow sounded familiar.
"Yes, Doctor Amelia Jones, so how can I help you?" The surgeon asked me once again, and with that, I scoffed inwardly at myself, as the surname of the surgeon was different from that of the Amelia that I knew, and also for thinking that the surgeon was the Amelia that I was searching for. I mean, Amelia is a she-wolf, and the last place she would ever think of going to is the human world. And also, all my efforts to find her for the past six years have been in vain, so it's really stupid of me to think that I would find her this easily, especially after finding out that the she-wolf whom I left her for has been making a fool out of me all this while.
"Sir, are you still there?" The voice of the surgeon resounded through the phone, snapping me back to reality.
"Yes, I'm still here," I quickly said to the surgeon in reply. "Actually, my Dad is terribly sick, and he urgently needs surgery, so I want you to come and perform the surgery," I said to the surgeon.
"Well, I would really like to perform your Dad's surgery, but in order for me to do that, you will have to bring him to the hospital where I'm working. I can have the address sent to you if you want," the surgeon said to me.
"I'm sorry, Amelia, but I don't think bringing him to the hospital will be possible. I want you to come over to my place to perform the surgery," I said to the surgeon in reply.
"It's Doctor Amelia and not Amelia, and also, I don't do home service," the surgeon said to me in reply, causing me to scoff angrily. If only she knew who was really talking to her, she wouldn't have cared if I called her by her name or not.
"If you can't bring your Dad to the hospital where I'm working, then I don't think there's anything I can do to help you or your Dad," she continued.
"How much, Doctor Amelia?" I asked her with an inquisitive tone.
"How much for what exactly?" she asked me in return. "If what you are asking about is how much the surgery will cost, you will get to know that when you get to the hospital with your Dad," she said to me, and with that, I scoffed angrily once again, as I knew very well that she knew exactly the price of what I'm asking about, but she's pretending not to know.
"That's not the price of what I'm asking for, Doctor Amelia," I said to her in reply.
"If what you are asking about isn't the price of the surgery, then what is it?" she asked me with an inquisitive tone.
"What I'm asking for is how much it would take for you to come to my place and perform my Dad's surgery," I said to her with a confident tone.
"Sir, it seems like you didn't hear what I just said about not doing home service?" she asked me.
"Of course, I did, but I want you to make an exception for my father," I said to her. "I'm ready to pay you any amount you want. All you have to do is mention your price," I said to her, with my tone sounding more confident than before. Given that I was making an offer that could change her life completely, I had absolutely no reason not to sound confident, and as far as I know, no human can reject such an offer.
"Thank you for your offer, sir, but unfortunately, I'm not interested," she said to me.
"Wait, what?" I asked her with a surprised tone, as the reply she just gave wasn't what I was expecting.
"You heard me right, sir. I'm not for sale," she said to me with a firm tone.
"That's not true," I retorted immediately. "Everyone has a price, and I believe you also do, so don't be afraid to state yours. There's no price I can't afford," I said to her.
"You are absolutely wrong, sir. Not everyone has a price. For example, me, I don't have one," she said to me, with her tone still sounding firm. "So whenever you are ready to have your Dad's surgery done, simply bring him to the hospital where I'm working," she said to me.
"So if I understand well, Doctor Amelia, you don't like money?" I asked her, as I still couldn't believe that she rejected the life-changing offer that I made to her.
"Of course, I like money, but I'm also a woman of my word, and when I have made up my mind about something, there's no amount of money that can make me change my mind," she said to me. "Since you were able to get my phone number without me giving it to you, surely, when you are ready to bring your Dad to the hospital, you will surely find your way to the hospital where I'm working. Have a nice evening," she said to me before hanging up the call.
"So, Your Highness, did she agree to come over to perform the surgery?" The doctor who was standing nearby asked me after I lowered the phone from my ear.
"No, she didn't agree. Seems like the humans are more stubborn than I had expected," I said to him in reply.
"Oh no, Your Highness, what are we going to do about His Highness's surgery? Or should we make arrangements to have him sent to the human world?" the doctor asked me.
"That's not happening," I said to him with a firm tone. "I'm not having my father sent to that filthy human world for any reason," I said to him, with my tone still firm.
"What are we going to do then, Your Highness?" the doctor asked me with a distressed tone.
"Don't worry, Doctor Gregory. There are countless ways to kill a cat. No matter how stubborn that surgeon is, she's going to come to this Pack and perform my father's surgery," I said to the doctor with a determined tone before turning and walking away...
AmeliaI couldn't believe my eyes the moment the suffocating sack covering my face was finally removed, and I found myself staring at the very person who had orchestrated my abduction. At first, I had assumed that someone I had offended was trying to get back at me by having me kidnapped. But the one possibility I had never considered was that it would be Adrian—the very same man I had spent six years trying to avoid. The very same man who hadn't thought twice about breaking my heart six years ago by choosing my best friend over me.And now, after having me kidnapped and putting me through the most terrifying experience of my life, he was staring at me with widened eyes, looking like someone who had just seen a ghost. After staring at me for what felt like an eternity, he finally uttered the one word that made me want to strangle him on the spot."Mate.""Wait. What did you just call me?" I asked, glaring angrily at him while ignoring the gasps from those around us."Mate, of course.
AdrianI was busy in my office going through some of the Pack's reports when I suddenly heard a commotion coming from outside.Frowning, I pushed my chair back and stood up. I was just about to head towards the door to find out what was going on when the door suddenly burst open.My mother stormed into the office, an unmistakably angry expression written all over her face. Right behind her were the two guards stationed outside my office, both looking rather frightened."Your Highness, we tried to stop her from entering, but she refused to listen to us," one of the guards explained nervously."It's fine. You can both return to your posts," I instructed. The two guards bowed respectfully before turning around and leaving the office. The moment they were gone, my mother turned towards me."Wait just a minute, Adrian! So you really instructed your guards not to let me into your office?" she demanded angrily.I completely ignored her question. Instead, I walked back towards my desk, pulled
After racking my brain harder than I ever had before, I finally came up with a believable story to tell the triplets about their father—what he did for a living and why he wasn't around. Fortunately, they seemed to believe me. Or perhaps I should say they pretended to believe me, because deep down, they knew that once again, their mum was lying about their dad's whereabouts. The following morning, before heading to the hospital to cover Alberto's shift, I first dropped the triplets off at school. After making sure they had reached their classroom, I said goodbye to them and headed back to my car.Once inside, I started the engine and drove away.I hadn't gone very far when I found myself on the lonely road leading to the main highway. Suddenly, my phone, which was buried somewhere inside my handbag on the passenger seat, began to ring."Who the hell can't even wait until I reach my destination before calling me?" I muttered irritably.Keeping one hand on the steering wheel, I reached
AmeliaAfter a long and tiring day at the hospital, the last thing I had expected was to receive a call from a strange man who believed that he could get anyone to go against his rules and principles just because he is rich.Unfortunately for him, I wasn't like the people who made him believe that everyone has a price, and that you can easily purchase whoever you want or make whoever you want do whatever you want because you can afford what he claims his price is.I could still remember how surprised he sounded when I rejected his offer and also made known to him that I am priceless and that there's no amount of money he could use to buy me. He was surely not used to people refusing such offers when he made them, and that's probably the reason why he sounded so surprised when I rejected his offer. Now, if he's not a lunatic who is pretending to want to help his sick father, he will have no other choice but to bring him to the hospital for the surgery, and if he tries calling me again

*Adrian*"For how long has this been going on?" was the only question I was able to bring myself to ask after recovering from the shocking scene I walked into after being away from the Pack for just some days.Sarah and Leonard, who were now trembling like two little children who were caught doing something very terrible, couldn't even look at me; instead, they kept on trying to use the bedcover to cover their nakedness as if their offence was them being naked before me."Didn't both of you hear the question I just asked: For how long has this rubbish been going on between both of you?" I thundered angrily at them, causing them to flinch in fright."Long before she became your mate," Leonard finally spoke up after some minutes of silence."Wait, what?" I asked as I couldn't bring myself to believe what I just heard. Deep down, I could already feel my wolf fighting to take over and tear both of them into pieces, but I couldn't permit it, as I knew perfectly well that this whole room wa
