Chapter 4: He's Not Getting Any Better

"For how long has this been going on?" was the only question I was able to bring myself to ask after recovering from the shocking scene I walked into after being away from the Pack for just some days.

Sarah and Leonard, who were now trembling like two little children who were caught doing something very terrible, couldn't even look at me; instead, they kept on trying to use the bedcover to cover their nakedness as if their offence was them being naked before me.

"Didn't both of you hear the question I just asked: For how long has this rubbish been going on between both of you?" I thundered angrily at them, causing them to flinch in fright.

"Long before she became your mate," Leonard finally spoke up after some minutes of silence.

"Wait, what?" I asked as I couldn't bring myself to believe what I just heard. Deep down, I could already feel my wolf fighting to take over and tear both of them into pieces, but I couldn't permit it, as I knew perfectly well that this whole room was going to turn into a pool of blood once my wolf takes over.

"So you have been sleeping with her long before I learned that she was my fated mate, and yet you didn't tell me; instead, you kept quiet and allowed me to mark her as my mate, and afterwards, you continued sleeping with her even on our matrimonial bed," I asked Leonard, who was still avoiding my gaze. "And as for you, after everything I have done for you, even leaving the woman that meant everything to me and choosing you because you were my fated mate, so this is how you decided to pay me back?" I asked Sarah who was also avoiding my gaze just like Leonard.

"Answer me, both of you?" I growled angrily at both of them, causing them to flinch in fright once again.

"Come on, Adrian, enough with the act already," Leonard said to me as he got down from the bed to face me. "We both know that you don't love Sarah, and the only reason why you marked her as your mate in the first place was because of the throne. So if the reason why you are angry is because I slept with her in your room, then I'm sorry; I will never do that again," Leonard said to me as the guilty and fearful look he had some minutes ago was now replaced with a confident look.

"What the heck did you just say to me?" I growled angrily as I rushed towards him, and grabbing him by the neck, I slammed him into the wall.

"You heard exactly what I said, Adrian," he said to me as he hissed in pain because of how violently I had slammed him against the wall. "Tell me, would you have still been with Sarah if Amelia had accepted to wait until you secured the throne, or would you have still been with her if you had succeeded in finding Amelia and convincing her to get back with you?" Leonard asked me with a wicked smirk hovering over his face. 

"Well, I guess we already know the answer to that question," Leonard said to me as I didn't answer any of his questions. "Also, you don't have to worry; Sarah has been aware of everything right from the beginning, and yet she decided to keep on staying with you," Leonard said to me.

Seeing how both of them no longer looked guilty despite what they had done, I smiled before letting go of Leonard's neck that I was still holding.

"Let's assume that everything you just said right now is true; that still doesn't change the fact that Sarah is my fated mate, and you have absolutely no right to sleep with her even if she asked you to," I said to Leonard. "And as for you, Sarah, it's true that in the beginning, the only reason why I marked you as my mate was because of the throne, but as time went by, I learned to love you because you were my fated mate, and even if you didn't want to be with me because you thought I didn't love you, you could have rejected me and left, and I wouldn't have stopped you. But since the only solution that came to your mind is making a fool out of me in my own palace, I'm also going to make a fool out of you and also him," I said to Sarah and Leonard and immediately the confident look written on their faces was replaced with a panicked look.

"First of all, I reject you as my mate and the Luna of this pack, and both of you are hereby stripped of all your titles and responsibilities in this pack," I said to both of them, and at the same time the door of the room burst open, and some guards made their way inside. 

"Arrest both of them and throw them into the dungeon, and let no food or water be given to them until the day they are executed," I said to the guards, who immediately rushed towards both Sarah and Leonard and restrained them before dragging them out of the room despite their struggles.

After everyone had left the room, I walked towards one of the sofas in the room and sat down, allowing everything that had just happened to sink in. It's true that letting Amelia go is one of the things that I have always regretted the most in my life, but after just learning that the person who I left her for has been sleeping with my beta even before I chose her, I now feel like the stupidest person on earth.

The painful part of the whole thing is that for the past six years Sarah and I have been together, I have always sensed that there was something off about her, especially after she told me that she wasn't ready to start having kids anytime soon, and for our sex life, it's not even something to write home about, and despite all that, I still made sure to love and cherish her because she was my mate.

As these thoughts were running through my mind, a knock suddenly resounded on the door of the room, jolting me back to reality.

"Who the hell is that?" I growled angrily from the room.

"It's me, your highness," the voice of one of the guards sounded from outside.

"Yes, what is it?" I asked him.

"The Pack doctor wants to see you," the guard said to me, and with that I sighed heavily before standing up, as I also wanted to go and see my father, whom the Pack doctor was treating.

Getting to the room where he was, I was about to open the door to get inside when the pack doctor opened it and came out.

"Greetings, Your Highness," the pack doctor greeted me.

"Yes, greetings. How is he doing?" I asked the pack doctor, who shook his head negatively.

"He's not getting any better; if the surgery isn't done anytime soon, then I'm afraid that he won't make it out alive." The doctor said to me.

"But I thought you said you already have someone in mind whom you can contact for the surgery?" I asked him.

"Yes, Your Highness, but the issue is that she's not a werewolf; she's a human living in the human world, and from what I heard, she's currently the best surgeon in the city where she's living, but when I reached out to her, she refused to come over here," the doctor said to me, and with that, I sighed heavily.

"Can I have her phone number?" I asked the doctor, who nodded in reply before taking his phone and giving me the phone number of the surgeon, and without wasting time, I placed a call to her.

"Hello, this is Doctor Amelia from Trinidad Hospital. How can I help you?" The voice of the surgeon sounded through the phone after she picked up the call.
