Sonya~

I gathered all the valuables that were given to me by my father-in-law and headed to the pawn shop where they were all bought up, and my bank account was credited with the money it was worth.

Even though it wasn't enough, it could at least sustain me for about four months before I could find a job once I left this pack. I would leave for a faraway pack, or even a human land where Alpha Seth or his family wouldn't find me. Not like I was valuable to them, but I was trying my best to hide the pregnancy, because that could be one reason they would want me back to that palace again.

I returned to the pack palace once I was done with the transaction, and straight to my Luna office so I could look into the several matters at hand that I hadn't worked on, and then round them all up. I was flipping through the files on my desk when the door burst open, and Alpha Seth barged in.

This was the third day since Neve claimed I pushed her down and was taken to the hospital. And since then, I hadn't seen Alpha Seth, and surprisingly, I didn't bother as I did in the past.

He walked straight to my desk and leaned his palms there, his facial expression cold and indifferent.

“Alpha?” I mentioned, because his silence wasn't something I wanted anymore.

“You're happy right now that Neve is hospitalized, right?” he finally asked, his voice hoarse as though he would shred me apart so soon. “Why can't you just be the Luna in peace and stop getting on my nerves?”

I nibbled my lower lip, trying not to speak back at him. But my wolf was whimpering and being impatient with our mate coming before us to talk about another woman he was cheating with.

“Sonya, I'll pretend that this never happened, but you must follow me to the hospital and apologize to Neve.” his statement buzzed in my ear, and I found myself standing to my feet. “Why the shock? You hurt your fellow woman…”

“My fellow woman?” I snapped at him, my voice turned cold before I could process it. “Can't you just break it to me that she is your mistress and is bearing your pup? How long do you plan to keep it away from me? She's not your family, so why hide the fact?” My voice rose at each word, and he only stared back with his lips hung open.

I dropped the pen in my hand and walked out of the chair. “Fine, I understand that I'm not worthy to be your Luna. But I still want to know what's going on in your head to bring in another woman and expect me to serve her. I am supposed to apologize to someone you cheated with, who dared to tell me I was going to lose the Luna position to her soon? What do you even take me for?”

“And I don't understand what you mean.”

“What is it you don't understand? That you're hiding the fact that she's your mistress and is bearing your pup? Tell me, alpha. What is so difficult here to understand? That you're shoving to my face a woman you slept with out there? That you're creating a family after lying to me that you were never ready to be a dad yet?” I scoffed and wiped the back of my palm on my lips.

This was my first time raising my voice at him, and I could see how stunned he was. He didn't see this coming, nor did I.

My wolf was at it, ready to snap irrespective we were omegas.

“I am your mate and Luna, so I deserve every respect.” I retorted and sat back on the chair. “Just so you know that I'm not apologizing to her. I see that I have a co-wife now, so she should mind her lane.”

He cleared his throat, “Come to think of it, are you supposed to blame me?”

I raised my face and met his gaze. Was that his way of agreeing to what I just said, going on between him and Neve?

“You already knew from the outset that I didn't love you and only accepted you as my Luna because of the circumstances. If I had a choice, Sonya, I wouldn't choose you as my Luna and would reject you the moment the matebond sparked,” he snarled in fury, his eye colour changing.

He reached the desk again and leaned his palm there, his eyes locked against mine, and I smelled the anger boiling in him. “Did you expect me to have a fat, stinky woman like you as my Luna? How do I parade you before my fellow alphas there? If you want my attention so much, then you should work on yourself and burn some fat. Knowing that you are in this palace as my Luna is already a shame to me, so stop making a fuss about Neve bearing my pup.”

I thought I had gotten over this until now. Those swear words were already a meal I got all the time from him, yet they pierced my heart like an arrow each time he repeated them.

“You're an omega and managed to be my Luna, so focus on your role as my Luna and not worry about who gives me a pup or not. If you want my attention, then maybe you should lose some weight so you can look presentable like your fellow women. I can't even share a bed with you because of your size; you're so disgusting,” he spat and turned around, reaching the door.

I couldn't find my words anymore. His harsh words almost took away my breath.

But my wolf retorted before he could leave completely, “Still, I am not apologizing to her. And you should remind her of boundaries.” The words left my lips so fast, and I couldn't stop them.

He halted midstep, turned around, and his glare could have shot me to death if they were bullets. His lips moved, but then a knock came on the door, drawing our attention. “Alpha?” came his beta's voice, and then the door opened.

The man bowed to me and turned to Seth, “News just reached the palace that your stepmum was found lying in her pool of blood in her bedroom. Your dad took her to the hospital already, so you're needed there.”

His stepmum? In her pool of blood?

The woman never liked me, nor did I. She didn't even like her stepson and was like a thorn in his flesh, until Seth kicked her and his dad out of the palace to their second residence, where they had been staying.

But what could have happened to her? I didn't need anything holding me back here.

Alpha Seth~Drinking became nowhere interesting again, because each second, I was thinking about Sonya and didn't want to drift into another world. Sometimes, I wondered about the possible way of getting her back, then reminded myself that it was never going to be possible…not after everything I put her through.‘But at least, we are now sure that she is alive…’ my wolf purred, and I couldn't help smiling. ‘We'll surely have her back, but it will take like forever.’Who cared how long it would take? What mattered was that she survived out there and was looking healthy. I had gotten tired of blaming myself for the miscarriage that she had. It hurt so much, but I couldn't dwell on that for so long. If she didn't have a miscarriage, would the pup forgive his or her father for being away? Would Dax take her in and care for her and the pup? How would they be living to survive?Nicolas’ wolf whimpered from the corridor, diverting my attention, then he walked into my office. “Alpha, I got y

Sonya~The only way out was to tell him lies as usual, so I ran my fingers through his cheek, “Mummy had chocolate on the way back, so it could be what you're perceiving.”He frowned, “And you didn't get one for me?”“Even Dad had one…”“Get me mine. You know that I like chocolate.” he contorted his face, and I faked a smile.I nodded, “Once I get out there, I will remind Daddy to get yours if he ever leaves the palace.”His face lit up in smiles once again, “Thank you, mummy. I love you ooo.”“I love you too, baby.” I spread my arms, and he embraced me tightly once again. Only then did I realise that I had tears in my eyes, so I just tried as much as I could to hold it back so I didn't have Kaysen asking questions that would leave my lips hanging. “I need to get a bath, Kay. Mummy will be back soon.”He nodded and pulled away, then lay on the bed. “I might sleep off, but I will wait for you.”“Even if you sleep off, I will still come and check up on you when I'm done bathing.”“Mum,

Sonya~A day had already passed, yet I couldn't get my mind off how Seth was beaten up. Neither my wolf nor I could get it straight. The times I tried to calm myself and focus on the present, I felt my heart being ripped out of my chest as she flashed to my mind again how Dax didn't pull back when releasing those blows to his face.He didn't fight back, didn't retaliate when he could have. He looked so worn out as he was dragged out of the room by Dax, and I thought I could get over it, but it didn't work out like that. I wiped the tears that streaked down my face the fourth time, sniffed so hard and decided to wash up my face in the bathroom. I had been discharged and was waiting for Dax to show up so I could start heading back to the palace. Maybe when I got there, every scene that occurred in the hospital ward would stop replaying in my head. “That idiot—” I cursed and caught my breath. “We could have been couples if he wasn't my worst nightmare. I could have still been his Luna,

Alpha Seth~Tears welled in my eyes. My wolf went into distress upon hearing Sonya say that. A miscarriage—While I was wasting my time with Neve, my mate was alone, bearing the pains without me. I didn't even want to care if the pup was mine or not; what mattered here was that she passed through that hell under my roof, yet I didn't know.Or was it after she left? Whatever, but I just wished the moon goddess would give me a second chance to correct my mistakes, by either taking back the hand of the clock to the past, or by softening my mate's heart towards me. As her eyes shifted away from me, I gently turned around to meet Dax standing there. I didn't realise when the door made a sound, showing how lost I was. Upon locking eyes with Dax, he started to walk towards me, his palm clenched into a fist. His expression darkened, and he looked like a demon that moment. He reached me, and the first thing I got from him was a heavy hit on my cheek. I staggered backwards, holding my face

Sonya~My heart skipped a beat when he took a long step towards me. The space between us closed, and I nearly lost control of my legs. “Alpha…”“Stop claiming that you're Bella; you're Sonya, my mate, and there's no room for hiding,” he said, sounding mean. “I'd known that you never died. I had been searching for you all over since you left the palace. Did you have to do this to me? What is it about Dax that I don't have?”I nibbled my bottom lip, just trying to compose myself and not mess myself up by spilling out how heavy my heart was. I had a lot to tell him, but none of it went my way the way I wanted it. How he gazed at me straight in the eyes as if searching for the truth…I shook my head, “I hate this, alpha. And if you don't leave right away, I'll have to call on Dax.”“He has no right over you, because you're not his possession.”“It's none of your business if I'm marked or not. Can you leave? I'm grateful for your help, but that doesn't warrant you overstepping the line.”

Sonya~I walked to the door and unlocked it, creasing my brows intentionally when I saw Dax standing there. “Didn't you mention returning in the evening?” I said, widening the door so he could walk in. “I was doing my thing in the bathroom, so I locked the door to avoid someone intruding. I'm so careful these days.”He chuckled and sat down. “You did well. I was just worried if everything was okay with you.”“Uhm, what about what you left for? Has it been sorted?” I inquired, shifting my cell phone. I had kept the dashcam at the end of the wall so he didn't think that I had already touched it.He nodded, “My beta already sorted it out. But I forgot something. Did you see the dashcam? It should be here.”I rolled my eyes and pointed to the wall, “You mean that? I saw it on the floor, nearly stepped on it, and since I didn't understand what it was, I kept it there to show you when you return.”He stood and picked it up himself, then nodded, “This is a dashcam,” he said and smiled. “I ne
