Chapter 2

Adeena's P.O.V

Marble walls greeted me as my sisters and I made our way to our parents, standing in the middle of the hallway, dressed in their formal wears. Mother standing by father's side, her arm linked with his as they both smiled warmly at us.

Mother's straight white hair went down her back, flowing almost to her feet, her crown sat on top of her head as ours did. Her crescent marking glowing in the middle of her forehead once her smile appeared, we all had a crescent marking in the middle of our forehead.

"You girls look absolutely stunning" Father smiles kissing each of our hands.

"Thank you" we answer in sync.

Father had ginger hair like myself, his snow white skin almost blending with Mother's hair. My parents were the poster parents of beauty and majesty, they both had unbelievable beauty compared to mortals that I've seen in my life.

"Adeena, you look nervous" Father acknowledged taking my hand.

He leads me away from the group, the others walked in the direction of the dining area, as I looked back at them slowly, I could see Noah's smile almost fade before I'm completely pulled away by my father.

"Is there anything worth my anxiety?", the sound of my voice was enough to tell I was nervous.

I had no idea what I was about to walk into, all I could sense was that father was also nervous, and be appeared to be quite sad.

We walk into the garden, the sunset creating a beautifully scenery across the place, all the butterflies getting ready for sleep as the flew lazily onto different plants.

Father put me to sit on the swing and stood next to me, his arms behind his back as he looked ahead.

"Aren't we going to join them?" I ask looking up at him.

"In a little while little one" he nods reaching his hand out to stroke my cheek. "You are so beautiful Adeena, in more ways than one, never forget that" he smiles, sadly.

Why has today seemed like a goodbye from them, my sisters were being discreet about something, except Adeena, she wanted me to know everything but couldn't tell me because Noah and Erika forbid her.

"Thank you Father" I smile, "but why is it a parting compliment?" I ask.

He walked over to my new batch of lilies, stooping down and waving his hand over them, a little tune started to play and he looked back at me with a curious smile.

"These weren't here before today, you grew singing lilies?" Father asks proudly.

He's dodging my questions, he's ignoring them, just as Noah did.

"I wielded them earlier, I was bored so I wrote a new spell and tried it out", just like Father, I was half witch, it was a great part of me growing up.

His ancestors came from Hekate, Goddess of the Underworld, and magic. Each sister had a gift, I was blessed with being a witch and a healer, not something Mother is very fond of because Father was once a dark wizard but she changed him.

I'm careful, he taught me everything I needed to know.

"Ah", was his only response before he stood up and walked back to me. "There's something I should tell you, before you go into the dining hall" he says.

Finally!.

"Am I being sold?" I ask, he laughs a little but shakes his head.

"You and that humour, no", I sighed in relief at that response. "But, our guests, they are from the most high ranked pack" he nods.

"Nexus?" I ask.

"Yes, Alpha Kalan, you two will have a strong connection and you will have to leave with him" Father says not looking me in the eyes.

"What?", my whole being was unable to understand what he was saying.

"You're his mate Adeena, he doesn't know it yet but he will figure it out once you step foot into the dining hall" he sighs.

"But how?", he looked at my confused state finally, "I'm not a wolf, and you know I fancy Ezra".

"It wasn't my doing love, your mother didn't want me to tell you but I had to let you know what you're walking into, I know how calm and naive you are Adeena, you would have been confused walking in there and seeing his reaction", again, I'm not a wolf.

There's no way we can be together, and the worst part, I can never argue with my parents because whatever they do is for a good reason.

"Your mother had blessed you with a wolf, on your eighteenth birthday", he continued to speak while I zoned out to remember that day.

She had put me to bed that night and kissed my forehead, I heard her whisper some stuff and I slept almost two days, when I woke up she was right there with a look of worry and relief.

That's what she did, all this time I had no idea.

"Why haven't I been able to sense it?" I ask, knowing better than to argue with anything.

I had no control over what they do, they were the immortals of this world, they decided everyone's destiny, and this, this is mine.

"You know your mother Adeena, she would never allow you to until the time is right", he held out his hand and I take it.

He helped me up, locked my arm in his and we walked away from the swing and to the exit.

"When will the time be right?" I ask looking back at my lilies as the tune died down and stopped.

"In the next week, you will have your first transformation", his voice was low and sorrowful.

I am his youngest child, I practically grew up at their feet, they would never let me leave their side. I knew nothing of the outside world, all I knew was my palace, my teachings and my own works, if my sisters don't tell me about things they've encountered, I'd never know.

I'm never allowed to leave without them, and they can only take me outside the castle to other places for only a good amount of the day, and then it's back to my duties, learning discipline and humidity.

"I love you" Father says looking down at me, just as we enter into the dining hall.

I turn my head slowly to look at everyone there, my sisters sat close to Mother's side as they always did, her chair was at one head of the table while Father's was at the other end, where I sat close to him. He lead me to my chair and pulled it back for me, I sit down and kept my eyes down, I so wanted to look my mother in her eyes but I knew better.

"Eh hem" Riker clears his throat catching our attention, he stood there in his doorman attire, a little more fancy than other times. "Alpha Kalan, Beta Isaac and his Alpha's sister, Lauren" he announces moving to the side.

A tall black haired man walked in, he was dressed in one of those attires Father wore, except his was black with some pins and medals on them, Father's was white, also had pins and medals. This was definitely an important meal, no one dressed so royal unless it was an important occasion.

Erika was also wearing a dress, the only time we could get her to was during these occasions, by the time it's over she'll be out and into her warrior clothes, ready to leave. She said she only came back for the dinner, but she will be gone by morning, she'll go to another realm to retrieve something.

She's always going into other realms, I wish I could.

"Alpha, welcome" Mother smiles standing to greet them.

He kissed her hand as well as the others did, before she motioned for them to sit. However, Father asked Kalan to sit next to him, just across from me.

Kalan sat down and greeted him, I sensed his confusion before he looked up at me. Our eyes locked and we just stared at each other, yep, he just realized that I'm his mate, I've never been in this situation before so I have no idea what to do.

"Adeena" Father says catching Kalan's attention.

"Your highness" Kalan says to me, "pleased" he nods.

"Likewise" I answer picking up my cup to drink some water.

No one really knew the names of the Moon Goddess's daughters, some think only Erika is the daughter because they don't see us three out and about, few know us and that few never tell.

Throughout the entire meal, all Father talked about was the Nexus Pack and how it's powerful thanks to Kalan.

Kalan, the murderer right, yeah, the one who slaughters his way to the top every time. I can see why they get along so great, Father's into dark magic and Kalan's into darkness.

Why not let them both be soulmates, huh Mother?.

I felt a nudge in my arm and I looked towards Mother, she cocked one of her perfectly groomed white eyebrows at me. Right, she can read my mind.

I can't even disagree, I know she'll have a whole lesson for me to learn from this devious scheme.

But Alpha Kalan?.

Why not anyone else?.
