Chapter 1

Adeena's P.O.V

"Adeena?", the soft call of my eldest sister, Erika, sounded throughout the garden.

I had asked for twenty extra minutes to finish my book. Don't tell me I'd run out of time.

I was just getting to the good part.

Erika's light pink hair came into view from where I lay on the rocking bench. She was striding over to me all dressed up in her usual warrior wear. She was the best warrior in all of the kingdom, and one of the most admired, by me.

"I asked for twenty minutes, I'm almost finished" I try to convince as I turned on my side to finish my back.

I was on the last three pages, that was three books in one day. There was nothing else to do, I had no chores today, Mother said I could have the day off today.

"Come on Adeena, I gave you an extra ten" Erika chuckles sitting down next to me.

Sighing, I closed my book and sat up to look at her. Her hair had two braids going to the back, held down by beautifully made pins of butterlies, I couldn't help but admire how beautiful my sister was. She was the eldest of four, and the most brave, we are all brave but Erika went out on her own limb to do whatever she wanted.

Mother allowed her to, I don't think I could ever sit and watch someone die, let alone watch them get hurt.

"Alright", defeated I answered getting a smile.

"Cheer up little one, you can finish your book later, I have something very important to tell you" she smiles putting her hand on my shoulder.

I watched as she reached into her tiny pouch and retrieved a small box. She was focused on the box, as if there was something delicate inside of it. Knowing Erika, she might have caught some insect and wanted me to take a look at it for her.

"Ezra got it on our way back from Ethereal Isles, he just knew you would love it" Erika says while opening the box.

A silver necklace holding a small butterly pendant glistened at me from the sun rays peaking through the vines. This was my favorite spot in all of the garden, the vines were thick and held most of the sunlight out, giving the garden just enough rays to make it breathtaking.

Blooming flowers lit up the whole garden, butterflies of different color flew around looking for a flower to drink from. If I can never be found anywhere else inside the palace, find me here, inside my garden.

"It's beautiful" I say softly, running my fingers over the little insect.

I wasn't wrong, there was an insect inside.

"Here, let me put it on for you" Erika happily says, setting the box down and taking the necklace from it.

I move around until my back was facing her and lift my hair up so it wouldn't get in the way, I can't help the smile that crept onto my lips. The warm fuzzy feeling taking over my body as I thought about Ezra, I could feel my cheeks heating just from the thought of him getting me this necklace.

Ezra Duir, he was also a warrior. He always fought alongside Erika, he was a great of hers and mine, well, more of a crush to me than a friend, we've known him for years. Ezra was the only boy I have ever liked, or will ever like, he was caring and sweet, despite his warrior persona, he was always so gentle with me.

Mother knew I liked him, but she's never told me to pursue him. I would never do that, I was not raised to pursue a man, but I could if I felt it was best for me. I've never thought of it, but I would love to have him as mine.

"He wanted to give it to you himself but he was caught up with other matters" Erika explains letting my hair down from my hand.

"He's always so thoughtful" I blushed clasping my hands together.

"He's the only person who could get you to smile that brightly, if only you could pursue him as you wished" she sighs.

"It's fine Erika, even if I tried to pursue him, he has a lot of other felines out there ready to risk it all for him" I mutter getting up and walking away.

"Adeena?" Erika asks in a sad tone, she didn't move to come after me immediately but I knew she'd be on my heel soon.

My gown swayed as I glide through the halls of the Moon palace. I could almost hear Erika's boots echoing behind me but I don't turn to look, I keep on my pace, I wasn't walking fast, she could easily catch up to me, she knew when to give me space.

Ezra was indeed a man of many attributes, he was tall, dark brown hair, the brightest of brown eyes I've ever seen. He had a voice so deep and pure, I always melt just hearing him call my name. But he also had many ladies waiting to marry him, I know it was up to my mother to choose mates of werewolves, and there was no way she would allow me to be with one.

Ugh!.

"Ooohhh, Adeena!" Athena, my other sisters chirped grabbing my arm and pulling me away with her. "I have something to share!".

I hadn't even seen her, she always did this. Grab me from random places to go on her ridiculous escapades with her.

The blonde haired girl stopped before me abruptly, causing my body to halt and shake. Oh Athena, the one with all the spirit, I followed behind her, she had a small piece of Erika's wild spirit, unfortunately Athena inherited way too much and just moves around like a crazed child on candy.

"Athena", my lips pursed into a thin line upon hearing my other sister's voice.

Noah.

Athena and I looked down the hall as the blue haired girl made her way to us, compared to mine and Athena's attire, Noah looked well dressed. She looked as if she was dressed for a special occasion, her wavy blue hair cascaded down her shoulders, her silver crown sat on top of her head, a crescent moon at the top almost lighting the mark in the middle of her head.

Noah's light blue gown went down ever so elegantly, she stood before us with both hands behind her back as she stalked.

"Yes Noah?" Athena asks sweetly, casting a polite smile to our sister.

"Mother told you to fetch Adeena, not to have a conversation" Noah says in her dominant, older sister voice.

Not even Erika talked like that, and Erika was the eldest.

"I know, but I just couldn't wait to tell her!" Athena giggles jumping up and down.

I could see Noah's annoyance wearing thin, out of all four daughters, Athena was the only one who was always so extraordinary, we loved that she was so happy all the time, but toning it down a bit would be nice.

"Tell me what?" I ask confused.

"Mother will-..." Noah starts to dismiss but Athena beat her to it.

"Mother invited some werewolves to the palace and-....", Athena was cut off by Erika slapping her hand over her mouth.

"Let's get you dressed" Noah smiles in approval to Erika.

"What was Athena going on about?" I ask Noah.

She hummed as she fixed my hair up, she let a two wavy strands hang loosely down my face, the red hairs bouncing as they always did. My dress was similar to Noah's, only, my dress had long sleeves that my fingers had to go through, my thumbs were separated from the other fingers.

"Noah?" I ask again, causing her to look down at me and cup my face.

"Nothing to worry about, Mother invited some very high ranked werewolves for dinner, she and Father asked us to be present, I don't know what it's about but I'm sure it's nothing" she assures nodding, I nod my head with hers.

Realizing that she was trying to manipulate me, she should know by now that her charm barely worked me no rather than when I was a child. I am 20 years old now, I've grown accustomed to her charm.

Now, that gave me all the more reason to be uneasy, she has never tried that in such way before.
