Chapter 4

But why are they after you? I asked

"That's because I'm a Hybrid." He said

"I'm still young, I've not fully gotten my powers and I don't know the things I'm capable of doing. My mother said Once I turned eighteen, on the next full moon, my powers will begin to manifest. And that is gonna be the next  full moon to come, that's why they're after me" he added

Oh gosh!! We have to keep you safe till then.

"We???" he asked

"Yes, we" I replied

"No, two people have already died because of me, I can't let that happen again" he stated

"Nothing will happen to me. Look, before I went into the woods the night I found you, I heard a voice, it was a woman's voice. It called out to me crying for help. Not for her but you," I explained

"Are you being serious right now?" he asked in disbelief

Yes, the voice led me right to you. She sounded really worried. I don't know who she is or why she wanted to help you, I explained further

"But you said you went to get herbs?" he asked 

Haha, I lied. You don't expect me to tell you everything, do you?

"By the way, what do we do now?" I asked.

"Because I can't let you leave just yet, you might get killed. I advise you just lay low for now" I insisted 

He looked at me and then walked back into the house.

~Erics pack~

What?!!!

"I gave you a simple task and you failed to do it," Eric said looking angry and pissed off. The next full moon is in the next twenty-five days to come, he was getting all worked up, stressed, and disturbed. 

"I'm sorry, I promise to get him if you grant me another chance" a member of his pack known as Mike whom he sent out with others to kill Jaden said.

"Second chance," he said as he walked to Mike.

 Mike on the other hand trembled in fear because Eric is not known to be a man who gives second chances when you fail to do what he asks you to do. He feared this would be his end but he had to try his luck. 

As Eric came closer, he looked at Mike who was kneeling in front of him with his head bowed asking for a second chance, he walked past him. He was just a step away from him.

Mike let out a sigh of relief when Eric turned back and slit his throat with his claws. There was blood splash all over the ground.

"Clean up this mess," Eric said as he walked out. 

Eric walked to his room looking angry, he went straight to the bathroom removed his cloth, and put on the shower to wash away the bloodstains on him. The thought of Jaden still alive flashed in his mind as he clunge his fist and punched the wall.

Soon after he was done, he put on new clothes and returned to the chamber where he killed Mike or should I say ripped his throat.

Turning to Ryan who stood by the door, 

"Gather everyone, we are going hunting," he said as he walked into the chamber.

"Also, bring me the prisoner" he commanded

~Rhea POV~

After a while, I went into the room and found him pacing around. 

Hey, go have a bath. There are some new clothes in the wardrobe. Make your choice, I said to him and made my way to the kitchen to prepare something for us to eat. 

Oh God, what have I gotten myself into, I hope we survive this, I thought to myself as I walked to the kitchen.

~ a Few minutes later~

He walked into the dining, his hair still a bit wet, looking at what he was wearing, I busted into laughter.

Hahaha, you look so funny in those clothes, I said still laughing

"This was what I found in your wardrobe" he replied pointing at the shirt.

Still laughing, anyway join me let's have something to eat, I said and his stomach grumbled in response.

I let out loud laughter which made him frown.

I'm sorry, I said still smiling.

"Yeah, like you meant it" he replied

We ate in silence until he broke it.

"Do you stay alone?" He asked

"Obviously," I replied

"Why?" He asked

I stopped eating and looked at him for a while and replied

"I used to live with my mother but passed away and I'm here alone" 

Now finish up, I said to him as I took my plates to the kitchen. 

Returning to the dining, he was done already I took his plates to the kitchen and he followed me. 

"What are we going to do now?" He asked.

Surprised at the question, I turned to him,

Earlier, I asked you this question and you just walked away. How am I supposed to know what we are going to do? Huh? I replied

Well...

Suddenly, everywhere began to shake. It was as if an earthquake was about to occur.

"What's happening?" He asked

Not minding his question, I looked out through the window and discovered that there were some people outside and there was a lady with them who seemed to be a witch. She was chanting a spell...

Oh No!!! 

We have to leave here now, it's not safe anymore.

"Why, I thought you said we are safe here?" He asked

"Yes, we are supposed to be safe here but there's a witch out there who's about to break down the containment spell and if we don't leave now, we are so gonna be dead," I said frustrated at his silly question.

"How are we going to escape now," he asked

Let me think. I then remembered an underground passage in my house. My mother would always tell me that if there was danger, I should go through that passage. The door was in her room. 

"Come on, let's go," I said to Jaden as we rushed to my mother's room.

 I picked up a bag and put the spellbook in it. We made our way to her wardrobe which was the entrance to the passage. At the side of the wardrobe, on the sixth block, I pushed it in and the passage opened. 

"Hurry, we don't have abundant time," I said to him.
