Axel’s pov I felt kind of guilty pressuring Amber into marking me. But I had a bad feeling about me being gone. I would have a quick talk with my mother and head straight back. It was nice feeling Amber even now, I had been on the road for three hours and I could still feel her nerves. I decided to mindlink her, maybe it would calm Amber down. We could do anything together. She seemed to be relaxed afterwards, so I would try to focus on my own problems for now. The coordinates my guys had send me were for a restaurant in the Sage Mountain pack. I would be there in a few hours. Apparently my mother wanted a public space to meet me, was she afraid I would make a scene or hurt her? Axel’s pov I rushed home, still not confinced everything was fine. Talking to Maria had calmed me down a bit, but I still wanted to see Amber and Elias with my own eyes. When I got home I quickly ran to my room, she was my mate now, so I assumed she would be in my bed from now on. But the bed was empty, I bolted out of my room and into Amber’s room finding her bed empty as well. I feared for Elias and I ran at full tilt to his room, which was empty also. I mindlinked Maria again, but there was no answer, so I checked the room she shared with Logan. I mindlinked the pack telling them. "My son Elias and mate Amber are missing, along with Beta’s mate Maria. If you have seen them please contact me. Keep an eye out for them. Can my Gamma and security come to my office asap." I contacted Logan privately telling him what had happened and if he could sense if anything was up with Maria. He told me he wasn’t able to mindlink her, but had not felt their band break or any sign of danger. When

Axel’s pov I went to the Sage Mountain pack with Logan and some of my men, racing to the restaurant I had met my mother last time. It was about four o’clock in the afternoon when we arrived at the restaurant. I had set a meeting with the Alpha of the Sage Mountain pack later that evening, to get more information. Alpha Finnegan had been an ally of my father, we had never talked before today. I had to be careful not to accuse him of any involvement or I could gain another enemy. When I went to the restaurant the place seemed closed down, there were no lights on and the phone had been disconnected. The last time I came her the place was open during lunch, so it should have been open today. I kicked the door in, not caring about any damages. Amber’s pov I woke up in complete darkness and started to freak out. Where was Elias, where was I and what the hell happened last night? Was Maria okay or did she did this? I started to yel,l "hello?! Can anyone here me? Elias are you here?" But no one replied. I tried to mindlink Axel, but I couldn’t. I felt so weak and why wasn’t Ripley there? I was lying in a bed, I carefully got up and tried to feel the room around me. I could feel walls around me, a bed and a toilet and a small sink. I saw a tiny red light from coming from the ceiling. I don’t know how long I spend in the darkness, but suddenly I saw some light. It looked like a door opened and then some people came in. I was standing up, ready for battle. But no one came in my room, I could see more now. I wasn’t in a room, but in a cell made from glass walls. And the bed wasn’t a simple bed, but looked more like a hospital bed. Amber’s pov Doctor Parker would take me out off my cell every day, for different experiments. Every time Rpdley would explain parts of how I could use my powers as a human. I would have to be smart, there was a camera in my room and it was completely dark. If I used my light they would notice straight away. Doctor Parker took my blood daily and was aware of every power I had. One day we would practice my shield, the other light arrows and my balls of light. I was getting more frustrated every day, I needed a way out and I needed to save Elias. If I was taken out once a day this would mean today was the 6th day I was here. It’s been almost a week. Amber’s pov Ronin and I sat next to the glass and started to talk. "I am a dark wolf. I can absorb the darkness and hide myself everywhere. I can use the darkness to heal myself. And I can hide my scent. That’s about it," Ronin told me. I explained my wolf and my abilities, but not sharing the full extend just in case someone was listening in. Axel’s pov I was feeling much better after having slept a while and we headed to Lenore’s house. Alpha Finnegan was waiting for me near the house, he showed me where most of the boobytraps had been. He walked me through her house and into the basement. She had used the basement as head of operations it seemed, there was a big table, lots of filling cabinets and a map of the area with pins located in various places. One was stuck in the Crimson Moon pack. "This is what I wanted to show you," Alpha Finnegan said while handing me a red folder. Inside was information on several different kind of wolves, with pictures and locations. On each picture there was writing, some said ‘CAPTURED’ or ‘MONITORED and some said ‘DEAD’. There were pictures of Elias and Amber as well, with their known abilities and location. They knew a lot about Amber, more than just anyone could know. Axel’s pov The next day I headed out to Lenore’s house. Perhaps Alpha Finnegan and his men had missed something. When I arrived the house was guarded by two men. They tried to stop me from entering, but I used the Alpha Command on them. Why would to keep me out of the house? It was my mother’s house for crying out loud, I didn’t need Alpha Finnegan’s permission just to look around. The last time I was here I went straight to the basement, not paying attention to the rest of the house. But this time when I entered the house I took a good look around. It was a cozy home, with paintings on the wall. The living room was painted a light purple and there were pillows all over the sofa. There was a big book case with loads of books, but none were books on special wolves. No photo’s throughout the house, none of me or my father.
