The heirs Awaken

Chapter 18– The Heirs Awaken

Pain that was the first thing Ethan felt.

Sharp.

Burning.

Every breath hurts.

Every movement sent agony through his body.

The forest spun around him.

Enemy wolves circled from every direction.

Their eyes gleamed in the darkness.

Patient.

Waiting.

Like predators surrounding wounded prey.

Blood dripped from Ethan's shoulder.

His knees threatened to buckle.

But he refused to fall.

Refused to show weakness.

Not now.

Not when his family needed him.

One of the wolves lunged.

Ethan barely dodged.

Another attacked from behind.

He spun and blocked.

A third slammed into him.

The impact threw him across the clearing.

His back hit a tree hard enough to crack the trunk.

Pain exploded through his spine.

For a moment,

Everything went quiet.

Then a familiar voice cut through the chaos.

"GET AWAY FROM HIM!"

The roar shook the forest.

Every wolf froze.

Ethan's head snapped up.

His heart nearly stopped.

Dad.

A massive black wolf burst through the trees.

Faster than lightning.

More terrifying than anything on the battlefield.

Liam.

Pure Alpha fury radiated from him.

Uncontrolled.

Violent.

Deadly.

The first wolf never had time to react.

Liam tore through him instantly.

The second went flying.

The third fled immediately.

The remaining attackers scattered in panic.

Ethan stared.

Breathless.

He had seen Liam fight before.

But never like this.

This wasn't an Alpha defending territory.

This was a father protecting his son.

Liam shifted moments later.

His chest rose and fell heavily.

His eyes remained locked on Ethan.

For several seconds—

Neither spoke.

Then Liam marched forward.

And grabbed Ethan by the shoulders.

"What were you thinking?"

Ethan winced.

"Uh..."

"WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?"

Even the trees seemed to shake.

Ethan swallowed.

"I wanted to help."

Liam looked ready to explode.

"You could have died."

The words hit harder than the shouting.

Because underneath the anger .There was fear.

Real fear.

The kind only family could create.

Ethan lowered his head.

"I'm sorry."

Silence.

Then Liam suddenly pulled him into a tight embrace.

For one stunned second.

Neither moved.

Ethan's eyes widened.

Liam never did that.

Ever.

"I'm glad you're alive."

The quiet confession shattered something inside Ethan.

Because for the first time—

He truly understood.

Liam wasn't protecting an heir.

He was protecting his son.

Far away inside the estate Elena suddenly gasped.

The room darkened.

Every candle flickered.

The air pressure changed instantly.

Lia rushed toward her.

"Elena!"

The girl grabbed her head.

Pain exploded behind her eyes.

Images flooded her mind.

Fire.

Blood.

Death.

Thousands of wolves.

Territories falling.

Ancient symbols.

A silver crown.

And finally…

A voice.

Ancient.

Powerful.

Terrifying.

"The heirs shall either unite the Alpha world..."

Elena collapsed to her knees.

Tears streamed down her face.

"...or destroy it forever."

The vision shattered.

The room returned.

Silence followed.

Everyone stared.

"What did you see?" Victor demanded.

Elena looked up slowly.

Fear filled her eyes.

"The prophecy."

Nobody spoke.

Because suddenly—

Everything felt different.

Bigger.

Worse.

"What prophecy?" Lia whispered.

Elena's voice trembled.

"We were wrong."

Victor frowned.

"What do you mean?"

Elena swallowed.

"The prophecy isn't about power."

Silence.

"It's about choice."

The room froze.

Elena's breathing became uneven.

"We're not destined to become rulers."

Her eyes slowly found Liam.

Then Lia.

"We're destined to decide what kind of world survives after this war."

A chill swept through everyone.

Because that was far more dangerous.

Far more important.

Far more terrifying.

Outside the territory

Magnus stood before his army.

Reports arrived continuously.

And every report made him angrier.

"The boy escaped."

Magnus crushed the messenger's report in his hand.

"Because of Liam."

His eyes darkened.

"Then we stop targeting the children."

The commander looked surprised.

"What?"

Magnus smiled.

A cold smile.

A dangerous smile.

"We target the parents."

Far away—

A sudden shiver ran down Lia's spine.

As though fate itself had just shifted.

That evening, the family reunited inside the estate.

For the first time all day—

Everyone was together.

Safe.

Alive.

Ethan sat beside Elena.

Liam stood near the fireplace.

Lia remained close to both twins.

No one wanted distance anymore.

Not after today.

Not after nearly losing each other.

The silence felt peaceful.

Until Ethan finally broke it.

"I messed up."

Everyone looked at him.

He rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly.

"I thought I was helping."

Liam sighed.

"You were."

Ethan blinked.

"What?"

"You were helping."

The room fell silent.

Liam walked toward him."But helping doesn't mean fighting alone."

Ethan nodded slowly.

Understanding.

Finally,

Family wasn't about carrying everything yourself.

It was about carrying it together.

For the first time since the war began,

Hope appeared.

Small.

Fragile.

But real.

Unfortunately.

It didn't last.

A horn suddenly echoed from outside.

Then another.

Then another.

Every wolf in the room went still.

Ryan burst through the doors.

His face was pale.

"Alpha..."

Liam immediately stood.

"What happened?"

Ryan's voice was barely above a whisper.

"The northern wall just fell."

Silence.

Complete silence.

Then fear.

Because everyone understood what that meant.

The battle wasn't ending.

It was only the beginning.

  • Alpha's secret twins    Beneath the blood moon

Chapter 24– Beneath the Blood Moon. The rain had stopped.A cold silence settled over Mooncrest, broken only by the distant cry of an owl somewhere deep within the forest. The celebration from the Moon Festival felt like a distant memory now. Every lantern had been extinguished, every laugh replaced by uneasy whispers. The Alpha Manor no longer felt like a home.It felt like a fortress waiting for war.Inside the council chamber, the mysterious traveler sat quietly before the crackling fireplace. His weathered hands rested on the ancient scroll spread across the oak table. The faded parchment looked older than anything Liam had ever seen. Strange silver markings glowed faintly whenever the firelight touched them.Liam stood with his arms folded, studying every line. "There has to be more than this," he said."There is," the old traveler replied calmly. "The scroll was divided centuries ago."Victor looked up sharply."Divided?"The traveler nodded."The Elders feared th

At last, he spoke."For centuries, every Alpha has believed the same story."Victor folded his arms."Because it is the truth."The old man slowly shook his head."No."His voice was calm."It is the version of the truth that survived."A chill settled over the room.Liam stepped forward."Enough riddles."
