Chapter 4: AlMa Cake Shop

After spending more than thirty minutes at Pelita Bunda High School, Zolan drove back to the Hospital. His mind was still thinking about Sindy.

That night was Zolan’s birthday, and it coincided with graduation day. Zolan was waiting for Sindy outside the gate. He had been waiting for an hour, but Sindy had not come yet. Zolan had called her several times, but she didn’t answer. Her phone number was not active anymore. He then opened the gate and came into her house. However, it looked like nobody’s home. He was standing in front of the door, calling out her name, but she was not at home.

Zolan had been waiting for Sindy to come until now. He even asked many people to find her, but he couldn’t make it.

“Beib, I am getting married to a woman that my father had chosen. I love you, and I’ll keep this feeling only for you.” Zolan was so sad.

“Fatma, can you check the cake in the oven? I am still packaging the order!” Aluna shouted to Fatma while packaging the cake.

“Ok, no need shout, Maam! I can hear you”. Said Fatma

“We’re leaving at 4 p.m. I have to do something. I’m afraid you cannot handle it alone.” Said Aluna.

“Ok, then. I also have something to do. It’ll be better to leave at 4 p.m because we’re going to have an exam this week. You know, I’m not as smart as you, so I have to work hard because my father will be outraged if I don’t pass the exam.” Said Fatma while checking the cake.

“It sounds good. We’re close at four starting from today until next week.” They finally settled to close the cake shop at 4 p.m

After the conversation, they started packaging the cake while joking.

AlMa was the cake shop's name, and it was the abbreviation for Aluna and Fatma. They had been close friends since college. Aluna was a brilliant and kind-hearted girl, and Fatma was charming and funny. Fatma was a wealthy girl. She was the one who decided to do business with Aluna. All the capital to start the business was from Fatma. Fatma was like Aluna’s sister, already like her family.

They had been cleaning for two hours, and the cake shop had been well now.

“Fatma, Can I leave first?” Said Aluna

“It’s the first time you ask for my permission, Aluna. You always just leave home without telling me.” Said Fatma

“Hahaha! See you tomorrow.” Replied Aluna. She took her bag and left the shop.

Aluna had arrived at her mother’s grave. After five minutes of standing there, she couldn’t stop her tears and started crying.

“Mom, why should it be him? I want to marry someone I love. I don’t want to marry him.” Aluna sat in front of the grave while crying.

“What will happen with my life after I get married, mom? Can he love me? Can he take care of me? You know I’ve never gotten love from Dad. I didn’t even know what his look was. I’ve never seen him since I was born. I just want to marry with someone I love, mom. This is really not fair. I can’t do this. “ Aluna was so depressed.

Tingg! There’s a massage from Mr Marfel.

“We’ll pick you up at 10 a.m, Mr Marfel asked you to come to the Hospital. You’ll get Married tomorrow.”
