Chapter 1

"What are you doing, Raymond?"

Raymond stopped his hand as he was about to hit Alfie. His red eyes turned blue again. Jacob's shout stopped the brothers from fighting.

Raymond released his grip on Alfie's shirt collar. Alfie, who got a cut on his lip, just stayed still without fighting back. Jacob came to help him up.

"Are you okay?" Jacob asked after helping Alfie. Then he glanced at Reymond.

"Weak," Raymond said sarcastically.

"What are you doing Raymond? He's your brother."

"Because of him, our enemies escaped."

Raymond said sarcastically while looking at Alfie. Alfie, who was still weak from Reymond's punch, was silent. Then Raymond left Alfie and Jacob.

Their quarrel was of course unknown to his parents. Reymond, who was stubborn, could not be opposed. Alfie only stopped Reymond who was about to fight with pack members from the enemy. Until the chase into the forbidden forest. And if not stopped, then the two packs would attack each other, that's what Alfie was afraid of.

"Damn! If it wasn't for Alfie, I would have ripped out his heart." Raymond wanted to eliminate the enemy. Without thinking of the consequences that would follow. The enemy would come attacking into his pack house which was in a human neighborhood.

Raymond walked out of the forest. Instantly he gasped at the sound of a tree branch being stepped on. His pupils instantly moved towards the source of the sound. His eyes became sharp, along with small steps towards a large tree.

Raymond peeked, and was always on alert... afraid that it was an enemy. However, when he looked, it was just a girl who ran into the forbidden forest to chase a rabbit.

"Who is it? How dare a human enter this forest," she said, still peering.

Instantly Raymond gasped. He took a few steps back when the girl realized his movement. Raymond hid behind a big tree. Meanwhile, the girl continued to observe the big tree in front of her.

"I feel like someone is watching me. Is there someone behind that tree?" thought Amelie.

"Eh! Rabbit!" Amelie gasped, her steps forced to turn back as the rabbit escaped from her hand. Forced, Amelie went after the rabbit.

Raymond could finally breathe a sigh of relief.

This place is no longer safe because humans have dared to approach," Reymond said.

Suddenly

"Raymond," called Jacob. Raymond immediately turned around, facing Jacob who was carrying Alfie. Instantly his gaze met, he looked at Alfie very coldly. Raymond is angry at Alfie's actions that prevented him from fighting the enemy.

"Do you want to go home together? We have to go home together otherwise... Mom and Dad will get suspicious." Jacob didn't want his mother to be sad to see her three sons not getting along. However, Raymond was a stubborn, haughty man who never wanted to give in let alone apologize first.

Without answering Jacob's question, Raymond just left. Jacob, immediately let out a rough breath. Meanwhile, Alfie made an annoyed face.

"Don't ever say this to Dad," Alfie ordered.

"Then what about your wound? I'll get suspicious." Jacob looked at the wound on the corner of Alfie's lip.

"It's not a serious wound. I can make it disappear." Instantly, the wound on Alfie's lip disappeared without a trace. Alfie had the power to remove wounds on his body as well as other werewolves.

Elsewhere, Amelie came home with a rabbit. I don't know where the rabbit was found. Amelie loved animals very much.

"I'm tired of chasing you to the forest. Don't go again." She said as she rubbed the white rabbit. Then dropped it down to the ground.

"It's safer here, away from the forest," Amelie spoke to the rabbit. "Go ahead if you want to play." Amelie smiled as she watched the rabbit leave.

Amelie got up from the ground entered the house and went to her room. As she opened the door, the cell phone in her pocket rang. Amelie grabbed her phone and answered it, after seeing Mom's name on the screen.

"Hi Mom?" she called, with a happy look on her face. She didn't know what her mom was talking about. Amelie looked surprised. Her mouth gaped wide open.

"Really?" Amelie, sighing heavily, looked down weakly. She said, "Yes." Those were her last words on the phone.

Amelie scanned her room. She walked over to the bed and sat down. Amelie's face looked sad, she looked at her room as if she was not willing to leave the blue room.

Again Amelie sighed.

"I'm not sure I'll sleep well anywhere else," she added.

Lauren had just given her the news. That Amelie would be staying with her at Western. And that she had to leave tomorrow morning. Staring at her room, Amelie tidied up all the clothes and things she had to take with her tomorrow. However, there was something that made Amelie uncomfortable. She doubted that she would feel at home living with the Reid family.

The Reid family in question was Lauren's employer. And Lauren devoted her life to the Reid family.

****

This morning Amelie arrived at Western. Amelie was not dropped off or picked up. She had only relied on the home address Lauren had given her written on a piece of paper. And now Amelie was standing in front of a large mansion, covered by a high fortress, which didn't show how luxurious it was. Probably, the robbers wouldn't be able to climb the solid ramparts either.

"Is this the address," said Amelie, who continued to match the house number with the address number on her paper. "Yes, this is correct," she continued, folding the piece of paper and putting it into her bag.

Amelie let out a long sigh. She walked over to the iron fence and was about to press the bell. However, the large fence suddenly opened.

Amelie was stunned.

"I haven't pressed the bell but why is the fence open," she thought, still watching the fence.

Suddenly her eyes widened, seeing a handsome young man coming out of the mansion. Amelie was stunned to the point of not blinking. That second Amelie gasped when the handsome young man asked.

"Who are you?" Raymond asked coldly. That young man was Raymond.

"Mmm... I..."

"You're a stalker?" Raymond accused. Amelie was instantly wide-eyed. "I've noticed that you've been watching the house from above. What are you doing? Are you a robber?"

"Hah!" Amelie's eyes widened so much that her mouth opened wide. Raymond's accusation shocked her.

Raymond had been standing on the balcony of his room. His gaze and smell were very sharp. Raymond could see Amelie from 5 km away and smell the pungent pheromones. Raymond thought that Amelie was a spy from the enemy. Until Raymond immediately jumped from the balcony, running fast. Until in an instant he arrived in front of the gate. Raymond immediately opened the door to stop Amelie who was about to press the bell.

"Why are you accusing me like that? Does my face look like a thief?" Amelie asked in a high tone. Amelie looked annoyed, giving Raymond a sharp look.

"Yes," Raymond replied.

"What!" shouted Amelie. "Are you the owner of this house?" she asked again with emotion.

"Hmm," Raymond replied as he folded his hands under his chest. "And you've been caught red-handed," Raymond continued.

"Hey! What did I steal? Is there any proof that I stole?"

"Your behavior," Raymond replied quickly.

Amelie's lips twitched slightly.

"What do you know about my behavior? This high fortress is what you see in my behavior, huh?" Amelie continued to raise her voice. Her body leaned forward like an arrogant person.

Raymond, glaring at Amelie then approached. Suddenly "Amelie," a woman called out.

Amelie gasped instantly. She was surprised to see Lauren. "Mom," Amelie said, making Raymond wide-eyed.

"Mom?" Raymond repeated Amelie's words while looking at Lauren. Lauren stepped in front of Raymond and bowed.

"Please forgive my daughter," Lauren said.

Raymond was wide-eyed, his mouth gaping open. Raymond never thought that Amelie was his servant girl.

"Mom, why apologize? I did nothing wrong." Amelie didn't want Lauren to bow respectfully to Raymond. However, that was her duty as a servant.

"Mom!" Amelie continued to scream, calling out to Lauren as her hand continued to be forcibly led. Lauren led Amelie inside.

"So she's a servant girl," Raymond said, staring at Amelie's departure. "Then, that smell... where did that smell I smelled come from?" Raymond added.

Earlier, Raymond had smelled pheromones that were so sweet and pungent. So that's what prompted him to go towards the gate. Raymond thought Amelie was a werewolf who deliberately stalked his packhouse because of her suspicious behavior.

However, after knowing Amelie is Lauren's daughter who is a human. Making Raymond sure that Amelie is not a werewolf. However, the smell of pheromones made Raymond want to look for it.
