12. To Appease Him

Silence consumed the room as I waited for my dear friend to respond to my report. Minutes had gone by, still he was quiet, spacing out behind his desk.

I cleared my throat, faking a cough to grab his attention. “Alpha.” No response. “Lucan.” I finally grabbed his attention.

“What?”

I watched him in disbelief. “I suggested that we mention again to the council about you being king.” A deep frown etched on his face. I know he doesn’t like this topic but it was necessary for the plan. “It might be a perfect set up to bring forth those who betrayed Dark Moon and the former Alpha.”

“It is a good plan. However, it might be another cause for another attack on Dark Moon. It was part of the reason my family was murdered.” He said so nonchalantly. He had put off his grieving and focused on our pack. It was truly sad to see my friend like this but alas, it was part of being the Alpha. Not to mention one of the biggest packs.

I nodded in agreement. It was indeed risky. I studied my Alpha.
