21. Avoiding Him Like a Plague

“Ugh!” My butt fell hard on the ground. My eyes fluttered as I saw a shadow looming over me. My sight finally adjusted and saw that it was Katarina. I realized she was the one who had kicked the back of my knees.

“You’ve been a pain in the neck, baby girl. Just when I admit you’re getting better, here you are getting distracted during training.”

I groaned, standing up, swiping dirt off of me. “I’m sorry.”

“The next time you get distracted, you will fight me.” She shifted her attention to my sparring partner. “Show no mercy, wolf.”

Marlin was helping me make dessert as everyone else was preparing for lunch. We were both taking our time since she was very inquisitive and eager to learn new things. I was happy that I had someone who shared my hobby and could help me with baking.
