Daniel’s POV

I had just finished berating an obnoxious staff when I received the damning report of Dorian's announcement.

The announcement was nothing short of audacious—it was hard to remove it from my head. It wasn’t just about Anna; it was about him drawing a line in the sand, daring anyone to cross it.

Well, I was prepared to take that dare.

I leaned back into my plush chair, scrolling through my contacts as I hashed up my plan. The board members, the influential figures Dorian had cultivated so carefully, would hear from me soon enough.

I resolved not to go with overt accusations—that would be too obvious—I would instead plant seeds of doubt among them. A well-timed comment here, a subtle insinuation there.

Anna’s sudden rise in the company? Too good to be true. Her relationship with Dorian? Convenient, wasn’t it? People were always eager to believe the worst when ambition was involved, and I was going to ensure that the whole thing blew out of proportion.
