Chapter 16

At work Mr. and Mrs. Poppy ignored Paris. It hurt Paris's. She tried talking to them, but they remained to ignore her, still upset about last night.

"Mom, dad, are you both just going to keep on ignoring me?" Paris inquired having enough of their behavior.

They both said nothing.

"I'm sorry for upsetting you both," Paris apologized.

Mr. Poppy got up and left the office.

"Dad," Paris called.

He didn't answer, leaving.

Soon Mrs. Poppy got out from her desk about to leave.

"Please stop ignoring me as well," Paris held her hand not wanting her to go.

Mrs. Poppy quickly spins around to face her.

"What your father and I were doing for you yesterday evening was to find someone so that when we're no longer here we know you won't be alone," said Mrs. Poppy.

"But that isn't real love, mom," retorted Paris.

"Who says he wouldn't have loved you eventually and you too the same with him?" inquired Mrs. Poppy.
