Chapter 43: Another Bargain

Shadows lingered from every dark corners of the stone walls as Mayari and Helen, along with Sir Eyron, the warden, descended in the dimly lit stairway that leads to the underground dungeon.

Instead of flaming torches, blue glowing crystals are attached against the rough walls. And it have identical symbols engrave in its smooth surface. Along the way, it gives a faint glow that is enough to light up the path but not to chase away the lingering darkness.

Their footsteps continued to echo in the surrounding as their shoes repeatedly collide to the hard pavement of the stairs that seems to go on with no end, making Mayari wonder of how deep is this dungeon.

"If you wouldn't mind, may I ask you something personal, Ms. Revinyr?" Sir Eyron broke the silence that accompanied their descend.

"Please address me with my given name." Helen politely insisted. "My family name is too formal for my liking and as for your question, it depends."
