Chapter 89

TANIA

As I stood up to leave the bar, everywhere spun for a minute and my legs felt jelly. I widened my eyes and tried to focus on walking out of the bar, but even my vision was hazy.

When I tried to take another step, everywhere spun again and I almost stumbled on the stools. Suddenly, I felt a warm hand grasp mine, its contact made my cheeks burn red instantly.

I glanced at my side, and my gaze fell on Zarek. He stopped me from falling and my heart skipped a beat as he touched me. It felt as though I should drag him by his collar, kiss him and be intimate with him.

“I'm probably thinking this because I'm still drunk,” I admitted to myself, trying to rationalize my thoughts.

But there was something about him... something that drew me in, despite my cloudy judgment.

My mind was a jumble, but I knew I had to shake off the haze and think clearly. “Ugh, focus, Tania!” I mentally scolded myself, trying to snap out of it.
