An Heir for the CEO

Prologue

The elevator opened, and Cassian hurriedly walked towards Mr. St. Clair's office. He passed by the secretary without saying a word and placed his hand on the doorknob, opening it promptly. Cassian cleared his throat as he closed the door. His father looked up and gestured with his head towards the chair in front of him. Cassian walked over to the comfortable chair and sat down, gazing at the man in the suit before him.

"I believe you received my message," he said, stacking the papers on top of each other.

"I came as soon as I read it," Cassian replied, leaning back in the chair, getting comfortable.

"We need to talk, Cassian," he said, looking at him seriously. Had he discovered his son's libertine lifestyle?

"You can speak," Cassian said, looking at him with curiosity.

"Son, I'm getting on in years, and it won't be long before I retire, leaving you to take my place in the company," Cassian nodded, already aware of this. "However, I have some concerns. You're 29 years old and haven't had a serious relationship yet. Not that it's any of my business, but I worry about the future of the company. To pass on the role of company president to you, I need to be sure about your progress."

"What do you mean by that?" Cassian asked, not understanding where his father was going with this conversation.

"I want you to provide an heir, and the position will be yours," he said, shrugging.

"How?" Cassian asked, frustrated and laughing, but not out of happiness. "Are you kidding me? I don't plan on getting married anytime soon, let alone having children."

"I don't want you to get married now, just provide an heir," he said, rolling his eyes. "Find a beautiful woman and get her pregnant."

"Super easy," Cassian said sarcastically, rolling his eyes. His father must be going crazy.

"Let me explain better, Cassian," Mr. St. Clair said, handing him some papers. "This is the contract she will have to sign. I've already informed our lawyer about it. The child's mother can never speak about this, and she will have no rights over the child, only you. However, she will still have the right to be a mother, do you understand?"

"She would only take care of him, and I would make decisions for him?" Cassian asked, and he nodded with a smile.

"You won't have to marry her or anything like that, just choose a woman who isn't materialistic and doesn't crave too much attention, as it could bring us significant problems in the future," he said, shrugging and taking the papers from his son's hands.

"Why all of this?" Cassian asked, indignant with his father's attitude.

"I want you to have an heir," he said, as if it were the easiest thing in the world.
