Now every puzzle piece fell into place. This was the answer to my question—why would Christen Meng help my father if he knew he was once the Shadow Knight—not just any Shadow Knight—he was at one point the heir of the half, but now it was mine. Christen Meng wanted his brother’s throne. He couldn’t do it alone without his support, something that could stand against Meng Shao—Meng Shao who was rarely seen.
