Chapter no 16

“I thought you didn’t like to be touched,” I asked. His eyes moved from my lips to my face. I was quick enough to release a breath.

“I don’t like to be touched when I don’t want to,” He said.

“And You want to be touched by me?” Not sure what came over when my mouth uttered this, making his eyes move back to my lips.

“You have your hands around my neck,” He says, “So, I guess I don’t mind,” He frowned slowly uttering the words. I saw him gulping and his jaw tensed. I felt every atom in the air around us heavy with the tension between us. All of these atoms weigh me down making it hard to breathe. And now with his forehead creased, and mouth in a tight line, I knew he felt the same.

I realized we had stopped swaying to the music long ago, and I backed away. It was a defense instinct, knowing if I didn’t support away I would kiss him. And then I would regret it all life long.
