I watched him get into the car. He didn't come up to say anything to me..well, I didn't say anything to him either.

As his car rolled out of the compound, I felt a bit down, that gut feeling being very deep.

“My Queen.”

I turned around to look at Lawrence.

“He has gone. What is Chase doing?”

“He’s playing with the toys the King brought for him?”

Why did Carlisle bring so many toys for him? Was it to occupy him for the meantime till he got everything sorted out?

“Did you find out anything about Roman and Emily's connection?”

He put his hands behind him.

“No, not yet. Information about her is rather…sensitive and it's going to take a lot to find out something. Even Roman is a very powerful man. I just need more time.”

That's understandable. I would have asked Lizzy with her on this but I didn't want to get her involved with anything. She was already busy dealing with the company. There were just somethings I felt should stay private.
