It was silent and it scared me.

The only time in my life when things went quiet was if something was wrong

Naturally, there was always something wrong which was why silence was foreign to me.

But even to this moment I had finally been able to reach out to Elinna and tell her about what happened, I didn't want her to be quiet.

I wanted her to raise her voice and curse me out but I didn't.

“I’ll be on my way back home first thing in the morning.”

I knew things will go in this direction.

“Elinna, please-”

“No Carlisle. I let you handle things and this is what happens to my son? How could you let this happen and even worse, you took him to the hospital and brought him back without my knowledge?”

I didn't even say anything. After all, she has every right to be angry with me but I couldn't let her come down here. With what was going on in the pack, the last thing I needed was for her to come down here with nobody at the helm of the sheep.
