As we sat in the car on our way back to the City, I couldn't help but stick my head out and inhale the clean and fresh night breeze.

It must have been very late because there were barely any cars on the road. Whatever the time was, it was just right.

“What about Elinna?”

Gomez didn't look back.

“She’s at the house. I would presume she is sleeping by now.”

Of course, she would be sleeping by now. It's better she was preoccupied with something else. All she would do is stand in my way.

The conflict of interest was just too jarring. I wonder how she would feel if she finds out that Carlisle came to ask for my help when she wasn't home.
