They both shouted at the same time surprising their parents

“Do you guys know each other? Michael asked them.

“Yes"

"No" They answered simultaneously.

“Which one is it, yes or no? Michael asked looking from Bill to Nelly.

“We don't know each other, we just met once at a Cafe," Nelly said to Michael.

“The food is getting cold, please let us eat," Debbie said to prevent any further questions from Michael.

All of them dig into their food and started eating except Bill and Nelly who were just picking at their food. After their meal, Bill demanded to have a word with Michael in private, so they went to his home office to discuss.

“Dad, is that lady downstairs the person you want me to marry? Bill asked his dad immediately after they entered the office.

“Yes she is the lady I want you to marry, do you have a problem with her? Michael asked him staring keenly at him.

“Dad this lady has a bad character, she is rude, proud, and arrogant," Bill said to his dad trying to make him cancel the marriage.

“All these qualities you just mentioned now should be directed to you, if she has ever spoken to you rudely then it must be your fault," Michael said to Bill making him disappointed because his plan to make Nelly look bad in the eyes of his father was an epic failure.

“So have you made your choice? do you choose to marry Nelly or forfeit your inheritance? Michael asked his son staring at him intently.

“Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! Bill screamed, it was a good thing that the office was soundproof, or else the people downstairs could have heard his voice.

“Dad, why are you doing this to me, why? He asked in a low voice.

“You know I have a girlfriend yet you want to compel me into this marriage"

“What you just said now is not the answer to my question, do you agree to marry Nelly or step down from your position as the CEO of Kent group of companies? Michael asked raising his voice.

“Fine I agree, I will marry Nelly," Bill said dejectedly.

“That's my boy, you made the right decision, just know that I am doing all this for you, let us go back and meet our guest, we must have kept them waiting for too long," Michael said to him and went out. Bill trailed behind him with a frown on his face. They got to the living room and sat down. Bill was sitting opposite Nelly glaring dangerously at her that if glares could kill then she would have been six feet below the ground.

“Sorry for keeping you guys waiting, we were just having a little father-and-son discussion" Michael apologized.

”It is okay Michael, now that you are here, let us plan how the wedding will be" Roddy suggested.

“Yes I agree with you," Michael said.

Nelly and Bill sat in silence as their parents planned their wedding. They were left out, what could they possibly contribute when none of them want the marriage? Their parents made the list of the important dignitaries that will be invited to the wedding, how large the hall will be, the best event planners to invite, how the media will be present to cover everything that will happen, and many more. Throughout the discussion, neither Nelly nor Bill uttered a single word.

“Why are you guys not making any contribution? Michael asked them.

“What is the use of contributing when your opinion doesn't matter? Bill answered Michael with another question.

“Bill!! Debbie yelled.

“Yes, mom anything the matter? he asked her.

“I think you guys need to go somewhere quiet and discuss so that you can get to know yourselves better" Elena suggested.

“Yes that is right, Bill takes her to the garden it is very serene and quiet there both of you can discuss and get acquainted with each other not like you are making any contribution here," Michael said to Bill.

“But dad...... Bill was about to say when Michael cut him off

“No argument, just take Nelly to the garden"

Bill stood up sluggishly and walked out of the house with Nelly trailing behind him. She did not like the idea of staying alone with an arrogant person like Bill but she had no choice. She followed him as he led the way and soon they came to the garden. It was so beautiful with different flowers planted there. It was also very refreshing and the scents from the flower were so enchanting that you would want to stay there forever. Nelly couldn't admire the beauty and serenity of the place because of the situation she found herself in. On a normal day, she could have moved around the garden touching and inhaling the sweet fragrance of the flowers. As they entered fully into the garden, Bill turned and glared dangerously at Nelly.

“Where you sent to torment my life? he asked her angrily.

She hissed and turned to face him.

“Why are you asking me this question? she asked glaring at him.

“We are in the same situation here, stop acting like you are the only victim, I am also being forced to marry a jerk like you," she said to him hotly.

“Don't act as if you are not happy, you must be over the moon now because you are getting married to me so stop pretending" he said to her with a raised voice.

“Me, pretending to be happy about this damm marriage? you must be the biggest joker of all time" she replied to him.

“I know you are very happy but just pretending, who wouldn't want to be with a rich and handsome guy like me? he asked her, and without allowing her to answer the question he continued talking.

“Let me make it clear to you, I don't love you and will never love you," he said to her.

“What do you even think of yourself huh? If your dumb brain is telling you that I am happy about this marriage then you need to have it checked because I am angrier about this damm marriage than you and let me also make it clear to you, I don't love you too I will rather stay with a pig for ten days than have any feelings for you" she said to Bill fuming with anger.

“What!!! Bill exclaimed shockingly unable to believe what he just heard.

“As I said earlier, I was forced into this marriage by my father, if I had a choice I wouldn't be in this marriage with an arrogant jerk like you", she said to him.

Bill couldn't believe what he heard, he was so shocked he couldn't believe that he was insulted by the woman he is to marry. No one has ever spoken to Bill the way Nelly did.

Nelly is a strong and fierce lady who can stand up for herself, she doesn't allow anybody to trample on her which is why she gave Bill a taste of his medicine.

“If there is nothing else to say, I think we should head back inside the house", she said to a shocked Bill and left him there. After some seconds Bill recovered from his temporary state of shock and followed Nelly and they went inside the house.

“So how was your time out, hope you enjoyed each other's company. Debbie asked both of them.

“Yes," They both replied in unison and faked a smile before going to sit down.

“We have decided that your wedding will be in a week, time," Michael said to Bill and Nelly.

“What!!!! the both of them screamed at the same time.
