“You are getting married," Nelly's father said to her leaving her in a daze for some seconds.

“Dad please stop this joke, mum please talk to dad, this joke is too expensive," Nelly said looking at her mom.

She waited for some seconds expecting her parents to answer her question but it seemed like none of them were ready to talk.

Arguments could be heard going on between Bill and his father, their voices were raised high as they kept on arguing. Bill has just been told by his father that he is getting married and he will have non of it.

“How can you just wake up one morning and tell me that am getting married, is that how this marriage stuff is done? he asked his father angrily.

“There is nothing you can do about it, I already made a deal with Roddy that you will get married to Nelly when you both come of age," Michael said to Bill which made him angry the more.

“How can you make this kind of decision without thinking of the future? he asked angrily.

“This can't work, this marriage thing definitely cannot work, I already have a woman I love and want to marry so I cannot marry Nelly or whatever you call her name"

“By talking about the woman you love are you referring to Diana Scott? his father asked him and laughed out loud.
