Chapter 4

"I am getting married to no one, dad. Be it an order from the board or not, I'm not getting married when I have a lot to handle." Anna poured out her heart in fury. This wasn't what she was expecting from her father…not even marriage.

But why would he talk about marriage when she's into such a big mess? Will that bring her company into progress again?

"Who do you think will be interested in me after seeing my nakedness on the net? You should think deeply about this dad." She snapped and forced her ass to the seat.

Mr Liam took some feet towards her daughter. "This is the only solution to this Anna, getting married to a popular CEO like Reid will bring things back to normal." He paused and got seated. "Imagine when people see the lady who was flattered in the net with a celebrity like him, no one will believe that it's true."

She kept mute, her mind roaming around over what his father kept saying.

"You need to do this, and you won't regret it."

"I don't even love him, how will I cope with such a stranger as my spouse?" She blurted.

"This is not a matter of love, it's a matter of being the fashion model that you've been all these years."

She took a deep breath. "I'm not interested."

Seeing how difficult it was to convince her, he decided to give her some privacy believing that she would change her mind soon.

"I'll be in my room."

She watched him climb the stairs, her heart racing like one who took a marathon.

"Marriage…" She murmured and bit her lips. "But how is it possible to get married after all these? Will that really restore my progress?" She gritted her teeth in confusion, not knowing the decision to take.

All these while, she's been getting down the pictures from the net, but it was much for her to handle. She dropped a message for the hacker who has been working for her all these while and she took up the work immediately, clearing the pictures from the Internet.

Feeling exhausted and depressed, she shut her laptop down and laid on the chair. Lost of appetite already, she dozed off while contemplating on the way to follow in order not to make a mistake.

"His name is Liam Grande, the man who took over my position as the prime minister. I really want you to give in and take revenge." Mr Blake Wilson stated the hearing of his son, Reid.

It was indeed amusing to his son, but he had to maintain his order and let him conclude.

"Marry her, not just because you need a bride…but Because you need to take that contract away from her. And then, I'll make sure to get back my position as the prime minister too." Mr Blake added.

Reid chuckled. "Uhmm! You arranged a marriage in my absence huh?"

"It's for your own good son."

"What if I tell you that I'm not interested? I'd like to get myself a wife." Reid uttered.

He shook his head. "Not every woman is suitable to be your wife. Anastasia is a fashion model, very famous and suitable for you."

He stood on his feet. "Is mum aware of this?"

"Not yet, I'll let her know after you agree."

"Don't expose it to her, I'll never be interested. Let revenge be." Reid remarked, but the harsh voice of his father drew him back.

"Are you planning to remain single? Do you really want to lose that position?"

Reid scoffed. "Both of us know how much I dislike that gender, but then, I'll get myself a wife because I don't want to lose the position."

"I'll accept no other woman in this house as your wife except Anastasia. Have that in mind." Mr Blake announced.

Reid walked out of the building to his car without taking a glance backwards at his father again, he wasn't himself anymore. Getting the repitations of everything his father said, a scorching heat enveloped him.

"Marry her and take revenge…overthrow his father and sign the contract she got. Isn't that much for an innocent soul like her?" He sighed heavily. "Not able to lose my position and the contract after she becomes my bride is enough. Will she even accept such a thing?" He let out a hot breath through his mouth, while relaxing in his car.

A touch on his shoulder startled him, only for him to turn and see his brother smiling while staring at him through the car window.

"You must be haunted darn much, what's the problem all about?" Felix rubbed his back, showing concern.

He hissed aloud. "Didn't you hear?"

"Hear what?"

"Dad arranged a marriage for me with his friend's daughter." He explained.

Felix rolled his eyes, trying to recollect the friend he was talking about.

"You mean, the one who visited today?"

"Exactly." Reid breathed hard.

"Wow!" Felix expressed happiness. "His daughter must be that pretty and famous for dad to reach such an extent. There's no need to gather women then."

"And so fucking what?" Reid slammed. "Do you even know what it means to get married to someone you have no feelings for?"

"You can divorce her after getting what you want. The reason for all these is because of the contract, isn't it?"

"He wants to avenge his friend for overthrowing him, and then divert the contract this lady got to our company." Reid added. "No wonder we began fashion modeling all of a sudden." He hissed aloud.

"Then it shouldn't bother you, what matters now is the company."

Reid ignited the engine of his car and drove off after ending his conversation with Felix. His heart was shattered.

The next day while at his office, he got a message from his father to return home immediately. That is saddening because he had a lot to walk on—and here is his father being a distraction.

Even at that, he recalled the conversation he had with him the past day about marriage. His heart skipped as he thought of the reason he demanded to see him.

"Hope it's not about that lady?" He bit his lower lips and stood up. Leaving everything behind, he left the office with just his cell phone since he was returning again.

It took him a few minutes to arrive back home.

His heart was beating faster than he expected as he parked his car at the garage and alighted from it.

He walked to the door and whined the door open, walked in slowly only for his eyes to fall on her.

"The lady on the towel." He muttered, while Anastasia focused her gaze on him, knowing fully well that she wasn't mistaking the man standing before him.
