Chapter 3

"Do you mean what you're saying? I'll have to get married before I get the contract huh?" Reid referred to the young man standing before him.

He sat up from his chair, scratching his head in confusion. Losing such a contract isn't what he desires, but the condition associated with it is difficult.

"You have just seven days to submit your marriage certificate, or your company will lose the contract." The young man added.

"And don't forget that you'll step down from being the CEO if you don't get married." His brother, Felix, chipped in.

He clenched his fist, staring at his brother who was up to something which he didn't know.

Reid swallowed bitterly, this was beyond his expectations.

"But how can I get a wife within seven days? I can't just cope with having a woman by my side, those genders are devilish." He screeched and scratched his head.

"And that's the only option left for you now," Felix muttered.

The young man greeted and left the office since he was done delivering the message as ordered.

"The government made a law that must be obeyed, all the CEOs, whether male or female, should get married so long as you're old enough for that," Felix whispered.

"Then you should get married as well."

"Come on man, I'll do that as well. I'm just eager to see you get married because of the company. And the fact that dad is in support of the law." Felix explained.

His gaze focused on a place, he was lost in thought about what to do. Heaven knows he isn't the type that wants a woman in his life…and he wouldn't want to lose his father's company because of marriage issues or whatever.

Biting his finger, his brother tapped him.

"I can help you get a girl who is worthy to be your wife."

"How will you do that?" He turned to Felix.

"I'll invite the girls over to my place, and you make your choice within them."

"Just with their physical looks, how will I conclude that she deserves to be a wife?" Reid queried, finding that option to be okay, but the consequences behind it.

He waved his hand. "Anyways, leave that topic for now, I need to put myself together." He swallowed his saliva.

Felix stood after some minutes to leave, but he called him back.

"I met a lady who was wearing a towel in the resort. Isn't that madness?"

Felix nodded. "She must be abnormal upstairs. Do you recognise her face?"

He shook his head, his lips pouted as his brows knitted like one trying to reminisce on something. "Not at all or rather, a bit. We only passed by each other…but I was shocked she was on a towel, that mattered to me more than her face."

Felix arched his brows. "You shouldn't let that bother you, not when you can't even recognise her completely."

The doorbell rang, distracting their discussion.

"A man is here to see you." The clerk announced, and before she could say something else, the man walked in.

They all turned to see the man who seems of the same age as their father walk in.

"I am Mr Liam Grande, and I'm here to see your father." He announced it to them.

They glanced at each other, shocked to see someone who wanted to see their father. It's been a while since someone came looking for their father since he fell sick.

~

Mr Liam was taken to Blake Wilson by Felix, the two old friends had seen each other for a while due to the distance between them.

He had to take a flight to meet up with him, and here he's seated with his old-time friend.

"Mr Liam is here for a purpose, isn't that?" Blake grinned, and they both burst into laughter.

"I was unaware that you had an accident, Hope you're improving?"

Mr Blake nodded. "And you as the prime minister, how's the work?"

"It's good. I'm so happy to see you again."

They both chuckled and sipped from their drink.

"So, I decided to visit you because of my daughter. She has marriage at the back of her neck and I wouldn't want her to marry anyone else other than your first son." He paused.

Mr Blake was all ears to hear him out.

"You know, we've been longing to keep this relationship going."

"Sure…of course…" Mr Blake chipped in. "Seems like both of them have the same spirit, Reid is ready to get married as soon as possible."

"And that will be a better match." Mr Liam uttered.

"She's a fashion model right?"

He nodded and placed the glass on the table. "Yes, and she's doing pretty well."

Mr Blake nodded. "Well, I'll talk to him while you talk to your daughter. Both of them are meant to be."

"And that will have an impact on the progress of the companies."

"Exactly, you got a better point." Mr Blake laughed so hard.

They interacted towards different issues before Mr Liam had to take his leave to the airport, in order not to be late.

He returned to see her daughter so busy with her laptop that she barely felt his presence.

"You're so busy."

"Yeah! I'm trying to see if I can pull down the pictures from the net." She replied.

He got seated opposite her. "That will take some time, why not hire a hacker to do that? The pictures are already viral so it won't be that easy."

She adjusted. "Dad, you never told me where you headed. Anyways, I got a contract from overseas."

Mr Liam was shocked.

"With the money, I can recover everything I've lost just within hours."

"Do you think the contract will help you alone? It's something that will come to an end, you need a steady backup." Mr Liam interfered.

Anastasia wiped her face. "So, what are you insinuating?"

"I visited the North to see my old friend, he's one of the richest and his company too. They're the sort of people that can restore your company and dignity."

She sighed. "Uh-huh? This contract that I just got is a very huge one, and it goes a long way."

"But that's for the meantime, you need a backup apart from contracts."

She took a deep breath. "Okay, what's your point now? Should I merge with their company? That's not easy."

"You should get married to his first son who took over the company."

She stood on her feet out of shock. "To hell with marriage." She shrieked. How on earth will her father talk about that in such a condition she's in? Who's that man that will get married to a damaged image like her without molestation? "I'm not getting married! I need to restore my company first…"

"You must, because an order already came from the business board that all CEOs are to get married or their company will be pulled down." Her father retorted. He has known his daughter as a stubborn lady.
