Chapter 6

Anna stood from the chair, her gaze focused on Felix who was taking short steps towards her. Reid himself was narrow-minded of what's going on, and that made him baffled.

"Felix, this should be a dream right?" She scoffed, taking a glance at Reid. "How come? No, this can't be true." She grabbed her handbag to take a step, but Reid pulled her backwards.

"What's going on? How come you two know yourselves?" Reid intervened, taking a look at the two.

Felix matched closer. "Uhmm! She's my long time high-school friend, it's such a shock seeing that she's the chosen bride of my brother." He faked a smile.

Reid nodded but was still not comfortable with that response. His brother shouldn't be in shock, if at all they're long time high-school friends then he should be surprised instead.

He took a glance at Anna whose facial expression was different, it never revealed shock but anger.

"Are you okay?" His voice startled Anna. She nodded and smiled slightly. "I'm okay, just that I need to use the restroom." She replied.

"Restroom? Now? Fine." Reid gestured.

She walked out of their sight to the restroom in his office and slammed the door heavily. Anger overwhelmed her, she was baffled as well.

"Why must they be brothers? How will I face my ex-boyfriend while married to his brother? This should better be a dream." She turned on the tap and washed her face causing the make up she added to wipe off, then she took a look at her face through the mirror.

This was the same cloth she had on, she walked to the door and opened it a little only for her eyes to fall on Felix and his brother seated opposite each other in a discussion.

"God Damn! I had thought this was a kind of dream, so it's reality? Like, I am married to my ex-boyfriends brother huh? Will I live with him on the same roof as well?" She shook her head. "This must be something else, I must cancel this marriage."

Before she vacated from the restroom, Felix was already gone leaving just Reid in the office.

"It took you so long, were you waiting for your high-school friend to leave before you return?" Reid referred to her as she matched to the table.

She got seated. "He's such a silly type that I hate starting a conversation with him." She lied and licked her lips.

He rolled his eyeballs. "I see, then we shall commence for the reason you came here."

She bit her lower lips. "I'm sorry if this will piss you off, but I'm done with this. I mean, the marriage should be canceled." She stated politely.

He knitted his brows. What sort of statement was that?

"Are you ending everything because the silly guy is my brother? Minutes ago, you were ready to face the hell in me, and here you're against everything." He clenched his fist. "Anyways, you need to be told this, there's no going back. This marriage must take place."

"And I still refuse. I'm no longer interested in marriage, so you can go pick up another girl." She shrieked at him, recalling that face which just left pissed her off the most.

Reid narrowed his eyes while staring at the lady who dared shriek at him. Who does that? How dare she? Does she truly have a death wish?

"My first rule. You dare not raise your voice at me." He drew her attention.

She turned to him. "Are you placing a rule for someone who isn't interested again? You can keep that for the next lady who will show up." Felix cheated on her which led to the breakup, why wouldn't she believe so well that Reid would do the same to her.

"My goodness! It's an arranged marriage so I shouldn't be thinking of that. Even if he cheats, it's none of my business. But I still don't want to do this again." She thought and grabbed her bag from the seat. "I'll be taking my leave, mister. I hope you find your heart's desire." She stated and made her way to the door.

Reid smiled. He had nothing to say to her for the moment, rather his brother. Why did she change her mind all of a sudden after seeing Felix? He badly wants to know what's going on between the two that they're hiding from him.

He maintained his work until the day ran ahead and he was done with the day's work. He picked up his cell phone and dialed Felix's number.

"Come over to the VIP resort, let's grab a drink." He said to his brother when he picked up the call.

Was that really Reid? For the first time he decided to hangover after work.

Reid is that CEO who's always mean to everyone including his brother except when he's in a good mood. He has no time for fun nor did he have friends to hang around with.

Felix would try to hook him up with girls like he does, but Reid ends up kicking the girl away from his sight.

He hates the sight of the feminine gender, and that's why it took him time to agree to this marriage which was easily canceled by the other opponent after he agreed to give in.

Felix showed up even before his brother arrived at the resort.

"Hangover after work isn't your thing. I just hope all is well." Felix uttered, while Reid matched to the table and got seated.

"I had to give in for the sake of her. She can't just cancel the marriage after I forced myself in." Reid signaled the waitress to come over, then he placed an order.

With the look on his brother's face, he perceived how eager he was to hear him out.

"Cancel the marriage? What do you mean?" Felix contorted.

"After you left, she left immediately, telling me that she isn't interested any longer. I wish to ask you, what business do you have with her that she changed her mind all of a sudden?" Reid clenched his fist, he wouldn't want to hear any annoying stuff from his brother or he wouldn't sit back but punch his face hard.

Felix smiled and uncapped the wine brought by the waitress. "She's just a spoiled brat, maybe scared that I'll expose to you that she was a slut those days in high-school." He announced, then filled their glasses with the wine.

"If you can handle her, then go ahead with the marriage…but I wouldn't advise you to or you might regret it. She's too spoiled to be by your side." Felix added.

Reid swallowed his saliva, staring at his brother. "Is that all or you still have more to say?" His eyes affixed on his brother, waiting for him to utter a word, but he nodded. "I don't think I have something else to say about her—but I bet, you'll regret getting married to her if you ever find out by yourself."

After minutes of silence between them, Reid grabbed the glass filled before him and emptied it. He wiped his mouth and stood up. "I don't care what she has been, I'm already interested in her and that's just it. I'll do everything possible from my end to make sure the marriage goes as planned…" He remarked and stood on his feet.

"Already leaving?" Felix furrowed his brow, but Reid walked out without replying to him.

He wasn't himself after his brother left the VIP resort to where he couldn't tell. His heart kept racing over the discussion he had with Reid because of Anna, so he headed to his car and stepped in, having nowhere in mind to go yet.

He had to come up with a nuisance, better still, speaking ill about her would change his brother's mind towards Anastasia. He couldn't tell if it was jealousy or hatred, but all he knew was that seeing Anna get married to his brother was something off.

Would he withstand seeing his ex-girlfriend living on the same roof with him? Sleeping on the same bed with his brother?

"Not at all. I'm supposed to let her go since we already broke up, but I can't—not when she's getting married to my brother." He murmured, seated in his car. "This marriage shouldn't hold, how on earth will Reid feel if he dares finds out? I know there will be a misunderstanding between them, but I still don't wish for this marriage to hold. Anna will be an obstruction to me in that home, I'll find it difficult to take over that company." He gripped the car staring tightly.

Fuck! This thought is becoming hell to him.

"Since she already canceled the marriage, I should remind her to stick with it or I'll spill the beans. Reid will dump her once he finds out that she's my ex. I'm very sure she canceled the marriage because she's either scared of being dumped when the truth is revealed or she's scared of being cheated on like I did to her." He muttered, relaxing his back on the car seat.

After so much wallowing in thoughts, he drove off to see one of his friends. He needs to relay what was going on to this dude so he will dash him some ideas.

"Just tell her to not go ahead with the marriage." Kelvin said to Felix. He found sense in that as he already thought about it, then he dropped a message for Anna.

"But, are you sure he didn't board a flight to go see her? Hope she won't open up to him?" Kelvin interrogated.

Felix sighed. "I hope so, she must be scared and ashamed to reveal it. But that's her business because she'll be the loser if Reid finds out." He blurted.

After several discussions with Kelvin, he decided to go home and take a big rest.
