He is being too nice.

Michael folded his arms and leaned against the wall. His expression was unreadable, but there was a storm brewing in his eyes.

Bella stared at him, her face flushed. She couldn't help but feel ashamed and embarrassed by her own behavior. "I... I heard that car. Who's driving it now?" she asked, trying to break the tension.

"I knew you wouldn't come out of your room unless I left, so I called my assistant, Parker, to come and take my car away," Michael said, his voice cold. "At least, you would think I've gone."

Bella felt a stab of embarrassment in her heart.

Bella tried to play it cool, but her face was flushed with embarrassment. She pretended not to care as she said, "Oh, who cares?" and took a bite of her bread.

Michael let out a scoff and walked over to her, snatching the bread from her hand and tossing it away. "Expired," he said, his voice flat.

Bella stared at him, wide-eyed. She opened her mouth to protest, but nothing came out. The humiliation was too much.
