ASHINA’S POV

To my utmost surprise, my mind was suddenly beyond my control. What was happening to me? I called out to Nyx but didn’t get any reply.

Perhaps because of the drink we had consumed at the party, it drowsed Nyx as well. It made sense; if I was unable to stand on my feet, so was she. Nonetheless, I was kind of worried.

Now these flashes and the heat rising in me was driving me nuts.

I imagined myself and Alpha Boris lying together by the river, naked, his warm breath ghosting over my skin, his lips trailing down my neck and my chest.

Oh, my sweet Moon Goddess. How could such thoughts creep in my mind? At this hour?

The vividness of it made my stomach twist and my breath hitch. The way his fingers had caressed me, the way his body had pressed against mine—it felt so real, too real to be a mere dream.

But… was it?

These flashes, these images—they came in jolts, uninvited and wild, heating my body in places I didn’t want them to. I didn’t want Alpha Boris to notice anything.

ALPHA BORIS’ POVThat night, after we returned to the Ironclaw Pack, Zelda was not herself. The night air was adding to the tension and the faint scent of pine, carried by the soft rush of the river nearby. I glanced down at Zelda—her skin fevered, her breath shallow. She trembled in my arms, still reeling from the aftereffects of the wine she had been forced to drink. Her cheeks were flushed a deep pink, and I knew something wasn’t right. This wasn’t just intoxication. My jaw clenched. The drink had been tampered with.An aphrodisiac—subtle enough not to be detected, strong enough to leave her flushed, dazed, and caught between pain and hunger. My fists balled as I remembered the glint in Alpha Knight’s eyes. That bastard knew exactly what he was doing. He wanted to humiliate her.He wanted to break her. But his plan failed and now that was why he was so keen on taking revenge. The reason was because I had gotten to her first.Beta Kael was with us, waiting for my instructions. “Go

  • Ashina-The Awakening of the Luna   CHAPTER 63

CHAPTER 63ASHINA’S POVThe flickering light of the tent’s oil lamp danced across the canvas walls, and as my eyes fluttered open, the scent of pine and leather filled my nose. My body ached. A dull throb pulsed in my temple, and as I groaned softly, I lifted my hand to my head, attempting to gather fragments of memory.Where…?The fabric beneath me felt so different from the Blackfang Tribe—it was warmer, softer, scented faintly of tobacco and wolf musk. My heart skipped.“I see you’re awake,” came a voice.I turned my head sluggishly towards the source. It was Beta Kael, standing with his arms crossed near the entrance of the tent. His expression was blank, his usually composed features stiff.I blinked. “Beta Kael…?”He took a slow step forward and crouched beside the bed. “You passed out,” he said plainly. “After being forced to drink whatever vile drink they gave you.”‘’How did you know?” I asked“We saw everything. Alpha Boris stormed in mid-banquet and fought his way through.

  • Ashina-The Awakening of the Luna   CHAPTER 62

ALPHA BORIS’ POVThe cold wind slipped in through the cracks of the rocky mountain pass as I crouched behind the ledge, flanked by my loyal soldiers. The night was soaked in moonlight, yet cloaked in enough darkness to hide our movements. Below us, the bonfire-lit party roared with laughter and drunken howls. As I witnessed the anarchy, I was more worried about Zelda this time.It was a full moon night and werewolves were known to go crazy. I was afraid that Zelda might be in trouble or what if they would use her for something else; like a sacrifice. This pack was renowned to be connected to witches and even vampires. As I drew closer, I spotted werewolves dancing in a frenzy, with the full moon looming above them like an omen. This was supposed to be a silent extraction. We would sneak in, find Zelda, and pull her out before anyone noticed. No bloodshed. No chaos. Just in and out.It was not that I was intimidated by Alpha Knight and his soldiers. Rather, I never liked to waste my e

  • Ashina-The Awakening of the Luna   CHAPTER 61

ASHINA’S POVStill, I could not believe that Alpha Knight was enjoying it while I was choking on the wine. It seemed that he knew that it was my weakness.I was not a drinker. In fact, I recalled that the last time I had a few sips of wine at school with my peers did not turn out well. They said that I was singing the whole time, wobbling and laughing. I would not want Alpha Knight and Bloodfang Pack to mock me. Well, I really did not think that it would matter to them, for everyone was in a chaotic state right now. Nevertheless, just a sip would do no harm. I vowed to myself that I would not take another. If he wanted me to have a sip, as he had mentioned, then only a sip could extract all the information from the Alpha. Now it was time for me to get more serious. Earlier, Alpha Knight had accused me indirectly of not being focused on my goals. He might have thought that I came here, I was glad with all the arrangements that I could be bought or I was not concerned about the Betas

  • Ashina-The Awakening of the Luna   CHAPTER 60

ASHINA’S POVThe party had clearly started long before I arrived—laughter echoed through the cavernous hall, goblets clinked, meat was already half-devoured, and several wolves in half-shifted forms were sprawled around the room in drunken stupors or primal embraces under the moonlight. The stench of blood and roasted flesh hung thick in the air, mixed with the tang of fermented root wine. Yet, as I was ushered to the grand table beside Alpha Knight, he had the audacity to gesture with his goblet, his eyes gleaming with a cruel sense of theatre, and say with a smug grin, “Let the party begin.”My jaw clenched.Begin? As if this debauched display of savagery hadn’t already been in full swing without me. As if I hadn’t been summoned like a pawn, forced to dress up like some painted prize just so he could parade me before his pack. And worse, he dared to say it with that patronising tone, as though he was doing me a favour—so that he could finally answer my “precious” question.I narr

  • Ashina-The Awakening of the Luna   CHAPTER 59

ASHINA’S POVThe moment the truth about my father and brother’s deaths settled in, it felt like my entire world had been turned upside down. My hands trembled slightly, balled into fists, as if ready to take all my enemies down, right here, right now. The air felt much colder, heavier, as though it was pressing down on my chest. Moreover, I needed to know everything—not just the aftermath, but who had given the order. Who had spat in the face of peace and driven both tribes into an endless cycle of bloodshed? At what cost? The person behind this plan clearly didn’t want two tribes to unite. It pained to see that because of such traitors, innocent lives were at stake. When would people understand that war brought nothing but destruction and animosity? Talking of animosity, although we were werewolves, moral ethics had to be valued. We had rules too, which some didn’t even adhere to. Anyways, I made my demand calmly but firmly to Alpha Knight’s Beta, when the next morning, he arrive

  • Ashina-The Awakening of the Luna   CHAPTER 58

FARKAS’ POVThe vileness of her words hit me directly in the chest. My heart thudded painfully in my ribs, my breathing shallow with rage. Every instinct in me screamed to strike, to end her here and now. But I forced my hands to stay at my sides, trembling with restraint.“You are sick,” I whispered. “Truly sick.”Esther’s eyes glinted, dark and twisted. “Oh, spare me the moral high ground, Farkas. You always pretend to be above all this, but you chose her. Again and again, even after she left you. Even after she humiliated you by walking away. That’s what drives you crazy, isn’t it? You still love her.”I didn’t respond. I couldn’t. The fury in my chest was too overwhelming, my mind already racing with the next move I would make. I couldn’t let her distract me. I wouldn’t let her words seep deeper.“I’m going to say this once, Esther,” I said, my voice now steady, cold. “If Ashina suffers one more wound—physical or otherwise—because of you, you won’t have to worry about the Blackfa

  • Ashina-The Awakening of the Luna   CHAPTER 57

ALPHA BORIS’ POVEsther stumbled into the camp just after dawn, her cloak torn and soaked in blood. She collapsed dramatically at the edge of the medical tents, clutching her side and gasping for breath. Soldiers rushed to her help, shouts erupting as the word spread like wildfire.“Esther has returned!” the Commander-in-Chief exclaimed.“But Zelda has been captured,” said the other.I watched from a distance, my arms crossed, jaw clenched. She was good—too good. Her performance was almost convincing, down to the fake shivers in her fingers and the dull look in her eyes. Almost. However, I had seen too much, knew too much. Her wounds were shallow and deliberate. There was no trace of panic in her aura, no real fear. Just calculation.‘The fucking bitch! I want to kill her for trapping our mate!’ Orion snarled.‘Calm down, Orion. Don’t worry, her time will come,’ I reassured him and his voice died down.By the time I approached the tent, Esther had already been laid down on a cot, ba
