ASHINA’S POV

The moment I heard of the battle at the tribal border, I knew what I had to do. This wasn’t just a fight for our people—it was my chance to expose the truth behind my father’s and brother’s deaths.

The rumours that had been going on for a while lately was like a fire burning inside me; either it would consume me completely or it would be the cause of someone’s destruction.

I had spent too long waiting, too long suppressing my need for answers. The battlefield was where I belonged, and I would not let anyone stop me.

I made my way to the palace. The guards at the entrance seemed rather on their toes, as they should but stepped aside without question. They knew better than to stand in my way.

I pushed open the heavy wooden doors to the Council chamber and strode inside.
