Chapter 18 Andor's First mate returns

In seeing Andor, my mind flooded with memories; I hated what I had done but loved someone else. When I was thirteen, I met the prince of the south and we used to sneak out to see each other all the time. I had an aunt who was a pack member in his royal kingdom, so I would beg my parents to allow me to stay with her during the summers. Jesup and I hated being apart, so we even thought we could be mates.

My heart was always warmly embraced by Jesup's fun loving attitude, swinging across the river on tire swings. We ran through the forest, listening to the leaves crunching beneath our feet. On many nights, we crawled to the castle's top and stared at the stars while testing each other's knowledge about Greek and Roman gods. Whenever his hands touched mine, I felt like any female she-wolf who wondered if we would end up together and bear pups.
