I watched as Iris walked out of her bedroom toward me.

I had to fight the urge of kissing her in front of everyone as I reminded myself that the two of us were currently the center of attention. I wore a tux which Miley had sent to my room as I had to ‘attend’ the ball to make sure that the ‘slaves’ behaved.

I extended my arm for Iris who looked at it for a second before looping her arm with my own, walking to the door by my side. Her hands shook despite her usual confidence, clearly worrying about what the beta would say if she saw the two of us. Her eyes scanned the room around us.

“You look beautiful” I whispered to her, tightening my arm around her for a second, making her smile.

“You don’t look bad yourself” she whispered back.

We reached the door where the beta stood. Her hair and makeup were done perfectly, and despite the fact of Iris offering to help her with her hair and makeup, the woman had her dressers and makeup artists do the job instead.
