The tension around the room got more intense as Dum looked at grandmother with a challenged eye " Simple because you have the same last name Mrs. Damore" he replied to grandmother's question.

Grandmother raised her eyebrows at him again and smiled, "If we have the same last name, do we have a family connection? What if it was just a coincidence that we have the same last name, Mr.Mace?" Grandmother asked Dum, "If the employee right there who escorted you also has the same last name, does that mean she also has a family connection towards me?"

Yes, Grandmother has a point that dum shouldn't deduce that we have a family link, but he is correct to be suspicious because of our last names, and what he suspects is the fact that my grandmother and I have a familial connection. Dum should be unaware of such information, and he should dismiss his suspicions about my relationship with my grandma.
